💔 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sad news that our beloved husband, Dad, Grandad and “King of the Friars”, Graham, has peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with illness.
Graham wasn’t just the heart of our family; he was the heart of our business too. He dedicated so much of his life to serving our wonderful customers and community, always with a smile, a laugh and a friendly face. Having fried fish and chips since the early 1980s, he took immense pride in his work and loved seeing so many familiar faces each week. He will be deeply missed by us, by our friends, our customers, and by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Away from the fryer, Graham had a lifelong passion for vintage Japanese motorcycles. He loved restoring them, bringing them back to life with incredible patience, skill and attention to detail. Whether he was in the van serving customers or in the garage working on a classic bike, he poured his heart into everything he did.
As a family, we are taking some time to grieve and be together. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and the kindness so many of you have already shown us during this incredibly difficult time.
When we are ready, we will reopen and continue the business in Graham’s honour. We know there is no way to replace him, but we will do everything we can to make him proud and carry on the legacy he worked so hard to build.
Thank you for all your love and support. They mean more to us than words can say and are a reminder of just how many lives he touched over the years.
Rest peacefully, Graham. You will always be our King of the Friars. ❤️
