20 Years of You 🥳
As we count down to Fennel’s 20th birthday on 3 October, we wanted to mark it by celebrating the people who have made these twenty years possible, you!
Fennel’s story has never been about us. It belongs to everyone of you who has walked through the door, who have celebrated life’s big moments around our tables, popped in for lunch or coffee, brought visiting friends and family, and simply kept coming back. Some who first visited as children, now bringing families of their own…
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing a few of those memories. 20 stories for 20 years.
We couldn’t think of a more fitting place to begin than with these lovely words from Iain and the Leslie family!
20 years of Fennel. 20 years of you.
“We’ve been going to Fennel for pretty much as long as it has been there – twenty years, the same length of time we’ve lived here in the ‘shire. In that time it has become one of those places that is simply part of our family life.
We’ve celebrated birthdays and anniversaries there, taken friends and family when they’ve come to visit, and been in for everything from a special dinner to lunch, v8 breakfast or just a coffee. Our kids have been going to Fennel since they were small, so there are a lot of family memories tied up with the place.
Our connection with Fennel has even found its way into our homes – we’ve bought some of the owner’s photography over the years, and those pictures now hang not just in our house but in other members of our family’s homes too.
But probably what has kept us coming back for twenty years is the people. We’ve got to know the team really well and they’ve always been genuinely lovely, welcoming and friendly.
After so many years, Fennel feels less like somewhere we decide to go out for a meal and more like an old friend – familiar, dependable, and somewhere we’re always happy to come back to.
Here’s to the next twenty years!”
