It’s with a heavy heart that I announce Utopia is permanently closed.

Things have been difficult for a long time and the pressures have ultimately become too much.

Thank you to every single person who supported us along the way - our incredible team, guests and friends. I can’t think you enough for all you have done.

We’re relieved that the authorities have now confirmed we are able to reopen our establishment, following the recent devastating fire. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this awful tragedy.

We really hope to count on your support in moving forward, in what has been a really difficult few weeks. With all the uncertainty of when, or even if, we might be able to return.

To get to a stage where we can open our doors, we are looking for some additional staffing to bolster us, in what we anticipate to be a busy period moving forward. So if you’re a barista or a chef who can assist in plugging the gaps, please do get in touch via [email protected] or fb messenger.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for your messages of support during this horrendous ordeal.

Our sincere condolences go out to Andy & Gemma’s family and friends, and to all that knew him. Rest in peace bud 🙏🏼

The last 36 hours have been horrid and shocking for all involved, and it’s difficult to find the right words to express the rollercoaster of emotions.

We have been extremely lucky to suffer only the most minor of water damage at the cafe, however the whole building is currently being assessed by surveyors and the authorities, and it’s unknown at this stage just how long it’ll take for our unit to be deemed safe to use.

Once we have a clearer picture of the road ahead and what that looks like, we’ll keep you updated but we’re praying to get some positive news shortly.

We’re really sad to report there was a fire in the same building as us last night. The incident is on-going with fire crews still on scene and the road is closed until further notice while investigations take place. We will update you in due course as soon as we know more information.
