Dear friends & guests of Utopia,
Thank you for all the the kind messages of support over the last couple of weeks.
This is a desperately sad message for me to have to write. Due to the ongoing staffing crisis across many industries, coupled with the living crisis and continuing increasing costs, we are potentially staring down the barrel of permanent closure in these next few weeks.
We’ve been struggling to recruit roles for months now and the overall picture seems to be getting more bleak rather than seeing any sign of improvement.
This is a last ditch attempt to try and find some talented superstar team members to help steer us through this difficult patch.
I never could’ve imagined just how popular we would become when I first started out, just over 3 years ago now. It was quite literally stress-central from day one, and has been a hell of a journey trying to keep up with the demand for our services. So much so that it’s put me through the mill and back in regards of my mental health.
There’s only so much stress that one person can handle, and it’s getting to the point where I’m asking myself whether I want to keep putting myself through the stress of it all?!
Utopia started out as one of my biggest dreams in life and I was so excited to see it explode onto the scene, but this has now become a bit of a recurring daily nightmare just trying to keep it afloat and up to the standards we set.
So here I am, desperately looking for a committed, passionate and versatile chef to come on board immediately to help save the day.
We are offering up to £12-15 an hour for the right candidate, alongside a host of other benefits including a work-life balanced schedule of working between 9am-5pm, amongst others.
