Thanks to Tracey for sending us the clips of the lion dance and also to her team at the Kingsmills Hotel for helping us celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Horse on Monday 23rd February 2026 for our members along with a mixed audience of friends from far and wide. They were dazzled by a traditional Chinese culture programme which included the Lion Blessing performance by the world famous Hong Lok Lion Dancing & Dragon Troupe, traditional Chinese Opera by the Glasgow Sing Ngai Hin Chinese Opera School, Chinese Dance and music by the Confucius institute of Herriot Watt performed by Director Wenjing Kang along with a teacher and student, piano recitals and Chinese singing by SHIMCA’S Chinese & Piano class students. Folk Singer Andy Chung(McChung) performed Chinese and traditional Scottish folk songs during our delightful 3 course meal.
