MacGregors Icon Spotlight: THE HERO- William Wallace

Towering in reputation as much as legend, Wallace is a symbol of courage, defiance and unbreakable national pride. Even today, Wallace’s name still echoes through Scotland as a reminder that freedom is never simply handed over - it is fought for, defended and fiercely protected.

We proudly feature Wallace in our MacGregors Icons in many forms—

🍔 Icon Burger: The Hero is a southern fried chicken burger topped with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, tattie scone and blaggis (haggis and black pudding mix) with a wholegrain mustard mayo. So tasty!

🍸 Cocktail: The Hero is also a chili and marmalade margarita with blood orange Caorunn Gin!

🍺 B**r: One of our featured cans by local brewery Dog Falls Brewing Co, this hazy session pale ale is a must.

👕 T-Shirt: Talk about a conversation starter!

📖 Book: His story is part of our Scottish Icons Book as well!

MacGregors Icons Spotlight: The Gael- Màiri Mhòr Nan Òran
Take in a bit of her incredible story!

Màiri Mhor, known as Big Mary of the songs, stood defiantly at the centre of public life, commanding crowds with intelligence, wit and raw emotional force. She did not simply entertain - she inspired. Her words carried the sound of the Highlands themselves: fierce, proud, emotional and impossible to ignore.
Not just heard, but felt. Her music and poetry remain woven into the soul of Gaelic Scotland to this day.
