Beach food, seafood and oyster shack in Instow, North Devon. We shuck and sell some of Our Countries finest oysters, served with a variety of our own sauces and dressings. Our menu changes through the year with regular specials; you could expect to see fish finger sandwiches, lobster, crab, spider crab, beach burgers, we use sea vegetables, squid and occasionally hand dived scallops.....

We don't take bookings, so just turn up.... Unless you're a party of more than 6. We normally shut on Mondays. Our hours change 'our of season' so message ahead to check. Bad BAD weather will Stop Play! We are fully licensed with a wide selection of wines, local beers / ales / cider, cocktails and locally distilled gin. Music - we have a regular music events through the year. There's something for everyone; Sea Shanties, Old Time Hillbilly Mountain Music, Chilled Sunday Afternoon Acoustic Sessions, Hi Tempo Indie Folk, House / Funk / Hip Hop / Soul / Roots DJ's. We take a lot of time, and care, selecting our suppliers to support other local smaller businesses, supporting our local economy. Take a look at our suppliers board when you visit. For example;
* Webbery Moos milk, delivered in glass bottles - the dairy farm is 5.5 miles away.
* Dartmoor Ice Cream - award winning & made in small batches, they even make their own honeycomb, strawberry sauce & caramel that goes into our ice cream.
* Exmoor Tea - hand blended in Dulverton - loose leaf tea, but in a home compostable T-Bag.
* Clan Roastery Speciality Coffee - roasted just over the Border in Bude, North Cornwall.
* Atlantic Spirit Gin - distilled just down the road in Bideford.
* GT Ales - a micro brewery in Chivenor, North Devon.
* Sandford Orchard Cider - Crediton, Devon.
* Utopian Lager - Crediton, Devon.
* Barbouys Cocktails - Exmouth, Devon. Award winning ready to pour cocktails made using Devon distilled Rum, Vodka & Gin.
* Wanderlust Wines - their wines come from either organically grown, certified organic or biodynamic vineyards. We have a couple of amazing Sparkling Wines from Cornwall & Dorset, Rose that until very recently was sold exclusively at SoHo House.
* Lobster & crab, when we have it, are from local potters. Apologies if I've missed anyone off the list. The Glorious Oyster is able to travel to where its experience is to be shared and enjoyed. We could offer an oyster bar service for any occasion - contact us for more info and availability. Our Summers are pretty busy - so be prepared to disappointed, if we're not available!
