Since 1971, the Appledore Pirates have been at the heart of this fantastic community tradition, bringing together locals and visitors for a day packed with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Their dedication, hard work and community spirit help make Appledore Carnival one of the highlights of the summer.

Expect a fantastic atmosphere around the village, with colourful entertainment, plenty to see and do, and a true celebration of everything that makes Appledore so special.

It’s the height of crabbing season here in Appledore! 🦀

A wonderful pastime for all ages, there's nothing quite like a bucket, a line, and a sunny day by the quay. Some of these little crabbers are even getting in some practice ahead of the Annual Appledore Crabbing Competition on 12th August!

And if you're wondering what the secret to catching the biggest crabs is... well, locals will tell you it's the special bait, only available from Johns of Appledore. 😉
