Nipped across to the Wild Ingleborough reserve for a look around and then caught a double bubble of freight on the way back. One shunting and loading at Ribblehead and one loaded from Horton heading up to Blea Moor to 'turn around' and come back again.

Would you like to work somewhere absolutely iconic and unique? We have roles available in our catering team working at both our stunning refurbished tearoom at Ribblehead Station or at the beautiful industrial chic cafe bar at Horton In Ribblesdale Station.

Hours are flexible and negotiable, we are a small, friendly team supported by some super volunteers and we need people to start ASAP so please get in touch by email [email protected] or by calling 07533 116 946

Don't forget next week is launch week and 40th Anniversary at Ribblehead Station Tearoom and Visitor Centre
So much going on everyday plus we have a temporary event licence so you can even enjoy a local beer from Three Peaks Brewery or a glass of prosecco with us as we celebrate

Please please do remember to book on an event if you want to join us though as we cannot guarantee a space if you haven't booked (there may be room to join if you just turn up but if there isn't you will be disappointed!)

Most events are free as well - even better!!

Please come along and support us if you can. The tearoom will be open all week except for two hours during the formal launch on Thursday when we will close to the public between 11am and 1pm on Thursday 16th July.

The Visitor Centre may be closed to the public during events so even more reason to book on and join in!

Are you interested in nature and the magical natural landscape of the Yorkshire Dales especially? Then don't miss our Nurturing Nature as our Neighbour event on Friday 17th July

We are working in partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to bring you a wonderful chance to experience the fascinating Wild Ingleborough Nature Reserve. This incredibly special site was selected last year to become one of just 12 'King's National Nature Reserves' recognising just how important it is in terms of biodiversity, geology and land management.

Ellie Parker will give a short presentation about the work they do managing the site and maintaining the balance between nature, tourism and farming int he area before leading a short walk around the site which will take in the quarry, the moorland and a pre-historic longhouse.

Booking is needed for this event because spaces are limited but it is free to come along so please drop us an email [email protected] to reserve your place

Are you an aspiring author? Ever thought about writing a crime novel?

Now is your chance to hear how to go about it, get some hints and tips from the author of Murder on the Ribblehead Viaduct and then maybe take a stroll down to see the magnificent structure that inspired the Reverend Malcolm to write his book and get your own creative juices flowing.

There are two workshops running on Saturday 18th July - places are free but booking is required as numbers are limited so please email [email protected] to reserve your place and let us know if you would like to join the 11am or the 1.30pm group session

Hands up who likes a bit of folk music? Especially if it's all connected to the area around where it is being performed so you can look out of the window and see the Ingleborough - the very hill that inspired The Fiddler from the Mountain of Fire album?

Please join us at Ribblehead Station Tearoom for our first ever evening event with the fabulous local duo Douglas and Moss. We will be licensed for the event, serving local ale from Three Peaks Brewery, delicious evening meals from our Tearoom Team so no need to cook and the chance to hear this unique and uplifting music in a really quirky and intimate setting.

Next up on the list of exciting events during our launch week at Ribblehead is the chance to join our Settle-Carlisle: Footsteps In Time team for their fabulous Shanty Site Event.

This one has a bit of everything - starting with talks and exhibitions in the Visitor Centre, there is then the chance to join a guided walk down to the Viaduct, learn about the geology of the area, have a look around the Shanty Site, watch (and join in with) an interactive theatre piece called 'Mischief int he Navvy Hut!' , do some fossil hunting in the viaduct and then return back to the Tearoom for a well earnt treat!

First up events wise for our launch week, we are looking to connect with all the local businesses in our area who are linked to tourism and visitors.

We see Ribblehead Station Tearoom and Visitor Centre as both a destination - with lots of free and fun family activities running regularly that you could be signposting your visitors to - and as a gateway into our area - so we could also be signposting our visitors to you and your offering ..if we know about you

So come along to our Tourism Together event, bring your literature, meet the team, join a super free guided walk and talk to see what we offer to visitors and let's see how we can work together in the future
