The pub has been looking rather lovely this summer.

The grass in the garden might not have survived quite as well as we’d hoped, thanks to all that sunshine, but the lavender certainly kept the bees happy. Blue skies, warm evenings, buzzing borders and plenty of time spent outside, summer at The Barrington Boar has been a good one.

Sunday Suppers at The Boar.

A long walk, a little exploring around Barrington Court, perhaps a pint in the afternoon… and then back to us for supper from 6pm. Relaxed plates, a glass of w**e, good company and an easy end to the weekend.

The leaves are beginning to turn, the evenings are drawing in, and suddenly Sunday roast season feels very much upon us.

They may never have left the menu, but there is something about the first hint of autumn that makes a proper Sunday roast all the more tempting.

As you all know, the weather has been unbelievably hot this summer, and we can’t even begin to tell you what it has been like working in the kitchen through some of those temperatures.

Behind every plate that leaves is a team working incredibly hard in conditions that have, at times, been pretty relentless.

Through the heat, the busy services and the long days, our kitchen team have just kept going, cooking, prepping, supporting one another and making sure every dish goes out as it should.

A huge thank you for your hard work, resilience, good humour and continued support. We really couldn’t do what we do without you.
