Yesterday was BUSY 😂

Like, properly, ridiculously busy. One of those days where the queue just doesn’t seem to end, every table is full, the tickets are coming in faster than we can make them and you start wondering if the walls are going to move outwards to give us more room 😂

And honestly, our little shop has just got to the point where on days like yesterday, we’ve completely outgrown the space. There’s only so many people we can fit in, only so many sandwiches we can make at once and only so fast we can physically move.

BUT… you lot were brilliant.

Everyone was so patient, even when there was a wait, and we genuinely appreciate it more than you probably realise. ❤️

We know it’s frustrating when you’re hungry and waiting for your coffee or sandwich, so thank you for being so lovely while we were running around like headless chickens.

And to the team working yesterday… absolute machines 😂

Tiny shop. Big queues. We’re doing our best. 🫶🏼

We’ve gone back to our roots 🥹🧡🖤

When we first opened, Underground Bakery and us were like this 🤞🏻🤞🏻 back when they were just a little baby bakery. And we were newbies on the block too 🥹

Fast forward a few years and they now have TWO shops (!!) and we’re extremely happy to have them back in the deli this weekend.

We’re stocking a selection of their pastries AND bread this weekend (all being well every weekend), so if you’ve not tried them before… this is your sign.

And honestly… SELL US OUT and we’ll keep them in all the time.

So use your feet this weekend, come and grab a loaf or pastry🥖

A little dog chat 🐶

As the summer season draws to a close. We will soon be putting our garden into hibernation for the winter ❄️ (weather dependant) and with that I just thought it worth dropping a lil reminder re your lovely pooches

We love dogs. We really do. But… we’re not a dog friendly coffee shop/deli inside.

Our outdoor seating areas are dog friendly, so your four legged friends are more than welcome to sit outside with you 🐾

And just to be clear, it’s absolutely fine to pop in with your dog to order a takeaway. They just can’t stay inside if you were eating 🥰

We’re a pretty small space. Already juggling prams, tiny tables, hot drinks, busy waiting area and people trying not to spill their coffee everywhere 😂 Adding dogs into that mix just doesn’t work for us. From a practical and safety aspect. Yes Karen….. I’m sure you’ve been to smaller venues that allow dogs inside: but this is our decision and one we are happy with for the safety of all involved.

And then there’s the slightly controversial one… hygiene. As much as we love your dog, not everyone is comfortable eating and drinking around them, and we completely understand that too.

Ilkley has SO many lovely dog friendly places, so we promise your pup isn’t being personally blacklisted by us 😂

So please, if you come in and ask if we’re dog friendly and we say no, don’t be a dick about it.

We’re not saying your dog isn’t lovely. We’re not saying we don’t like dogs. We’re just saying they can’t come inside 👀

You love your dog. We get it. But that doesn’t mean everyone else has to 🫶🏼🐶

And I think that’s pretty fair & reasonable 🫶🏻

Outdoor seating = YES.
Pop in for a takeaway = YES.
Sit inside with your dog = NO.

And we promise we still think your dog is gorgeous… just like you 😘

A little appreciation post for our homemade pastrami 🥯

This bad boy is brined for 6 days in Sally’s secret recipe brine before being cooked low and slow for HOURS. It’s then sliced up and loaded into our Deli Special Bagel with Emmental, dill pickle, rocket and American mustard 🤤

And whilst we’re talking about our fillings… we make ALL of our own. Pretty much everything you see in our sandwiches is made by us, fresh every day.

Which also means when we sell out… we sell out. It’s not us being difficult or trying to make your life harder 😂

We genuinely don’t want to make huge batches of food just to have loads left at the end of the day.

We hate food waste, so we’d much rather make what we think we’ll sell, keep everything fresh and occasionally run out than make loads extra and have to chuck it away.

So if your favourite sandwich has sold out, we’re sorry 😭 but there is a very good reason behind it. And we promise we’re not hiding a secret stash in the back.

Guysssss….. you’ve absolutely smashed us today 😮

We’ve SOLD OUT of bread!!!

We’ve had to close the kitchen early as we have nothing left! However we are still open for coffee cake and the few savoury bits we have going 🧡

Sorry folks …. I guess it’s a good problem to have… but not for you guys. So I do apologise ✨
