That's Keira, one of the pub's resident dogs on the front cover!!!!

That's right, Cara, the landlady, has been learning slr photography for a little while now, and last Christmas she had fun setting up this scene and bribing the dogs into poses with treats. The pictures that came from that session were incredible.

*Team Outing to Spring Lakes Water Sports*

This week we are sad to be saying goodbye to two fantastic lads, who leave us to pursue bright futures. Lucas is off to join the Army, and hopefully the paras, and Ryan is off to York university to part… I mean study…

For their leaving do, the team decided to have a fun day out at Spring Lakes!!! From the oldest to the youngest, and the most unfit to the fittest, a lot of fun was had by all who attended.

Thank you to Spring Lakes for hosting our crazy lot, and more importantly, Thank you Lucas and Ryan for all of the hard work, for turning up through all conditions (including a hangover or two) and for the laughs… Best of luck in the future, we will miss you both.

🐶 It's good to see other's allowing well behaved dogs to dine indoors lately, but did you know that we've been allowing this for over 10 years now?

🐾 We have a completely separate indoor dining area for diners with their doggos... Don't worry about damp doggos, mucky paws, or shedders, because the floors in this room are tiled and easy to clean. (We also have a dog free dining area for those who prefer not to dine around dogs.)

💧 Plenty of dog water bowls available, with a tap also available to customers, just outside the back door, to refill them.

📔 And we are pleased to announce that very soon we will be launching our brand new "Sir Woofchester's" dog menu!!! With snacks, whole meals, and even a doggy b**r or cocktail for your dog to enjoy!!!

We're very nearly fully booked for carvery today, with just one table remaining at 12pm which we expect to be booked up by the time we open... Please do not visit us today for carvery without a booking.

Don't forget though, we're serving our main menus until 8pm, even after carvery finishes at 2pm. So you can still enjoy something to eat in the garden this afternoon, or in the pub after carvery has finished.

Next week our Sunday carvery is no longer on summer hours... From Sunday 13th we return to 4 sittings and the carvery being available until 5pm. :)

This Sunday is the final Sunday of our reduced summer carvery hours... We have a few tables at 12 available, but we're fully booked at 1:30pm and then carvery finishes at 2pm.

After 2pm you can still order from our main a la carte menus until 8pm.

From next week, Sunday 13th, we return to 4 carvery sittings, at 12:00, 1:30, 3:00 and 4:30pm with carvery finishing at 5pm. So you'll have more of a chance of being able to enjoy our new expended carvery range even later on a Sunday... Now with 4 meats, stuffing balls, sausages, Yorkshire puddings, dauphinoise potatoes, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, cauli cheese, creamy savoy cabbage and bacon, parsnips, carrots, peas, green beans, broccoli, sweetcorn, braised red cabbage and lashings of gravy... All FROM JUST £12.95!!!
