From Victorian elegance to the psychedelic seventies—which era will you choose?

Join us at The Carlton on Friday 16 October for the Inaugural History & Fashion Exhibition Dinner: an elegant evening celebrating Ilfracombe’s history and style through the ages.

Arrive from 7pm and enjoy:

• A welcome drink reception
• A three-course dinner
• Live music from North Devon acoustic harmony band Nothing But Treble
• A prize for the best period-inspired outfit

Tickets are £44 per person—and £5 from every ticket sold will help provide the seed funding for next year’s History & Fashion Exhibition.

Period dress is warmly encouraged, whether your inspiration is Victorian finery, mid-century glamour, the swinging sixties or the colour and character of the 1970s.

Accommodation packages are also available for guests wishing to make a night or weekend of it.

Suitable for ages 14 and over. Menu pre-orders and advance booking are required.

🎉 Celebrating 10 years of Claire at The Carlton! 🎉

Today we’re marking a very special milestone: Claire has now been part of The Carlton team for an incredible 10 years.

Claire’s day job is head housekeeper, looking after our rooms and helping to maintain the standards our guests value so highly. But, like every great hotel team member, she is always willing to turn her hand to whatever is needed, including helping guests at reception and in the restaurant.

Over the past decade, Claire has shared in all the busy days, special occasions, changes and memorable moments that make hotel life what it is. Her hard work, loyalty and willingness to help have made her a much-valued member of our Carlton family.

And after 10 years of looking after everyone else, we think that glass of red is very well deserved!
