Good morning to all Lion Lovers.... lol.
Bit of a long on so pls bear with me...
You may or may not have heard about the tragic and traumatic passing of my beautiful wife and our Lionesz Claire. Shortly followed by my parents Marie & Tony Champion.
I intended to carry on with our dream (The Luon), Claire fell in love with it and we opened within 2 weeks!!!!
Unfortunately I need a start somewhere else and as such today will be the last day of trading for us at The Ickleton Lion.
Tragically when the change happens on Monday Greene King have not found a tenant yet.
We desperate tried to be ooen and have an offering until now and I am totaly devastated I'm the landlord that left and the pub was boarded up.
No detriment to Greene King as they've ben quite simply amazing.
Obviously we are short stocked but if you want to come say hi/bye your more than welcome to pop to the shop for your favorite tipple. We won't be doing food on Monday or technically drinks but again, pop down.
It didn't work out that Jamie, louise & Sophia took over from me but they've chatted to Lewis tge new owner of Ickleton Riverside Barns and will be doing great food, drink etc from there so look at their Facebook for more info coming from them.
I/we loved being caretakers of The Lion and being in Ickleton. The love and support I got when things happened was truly incredible and I thank you all.
I was going to travel a bit but plans have changed. I shall keep you posted until Monday when I hand over all social media etc too.
