From this Saturday we are celebrating the 'King of Cheese'; Stilton. If you are new to this cheese or a Stilton Lover Harveys Of Hythe will be the place to be to get your Stilton. During Stilton week we will have Stilton from all four remaining Stilton cheesemakers. We will be celebrating the best that Clawson Farms, Colston Bassett Dairy, Cropwell Bishop, and Hartington Creamery have to offer.

You will also be able to join Jonathan out the front of the shop on Tuesday 13th October for a sampling of all four cheeses. He cannot wait for you to see & taste the difference between the four!

We are delighted to have been selected as one of the retailers to represent Stilton as part of Stilton Week. For the first time the four Stilton creameries & the Speciality Food magazine have come together and created Stilton Week. The inaugural event will be held on the 10th October - 18th October. We will have all four Stilton's on the counter from this Saturday with a special sampling next Tuesday. We can't wait to showcase the king of cheese throughout next week! And remember Stilton isn't only for Christmas.

This morning we have a highly requested and utterly fantastic cheese back on the counter; Gorwydd Caerphilly made by the Trethowan Brothers. This Caerphilly is matured for a minimum of two months and is pressed into shape by Victorian presses. This cheese is pasteurised and it produces bright, lactic flavours that lead into a creaminess. It is moreish on the palate and is "described as 'three cheeses in one' with an edible mushroom tasting rind followed by a creamy breakdown layer leading into the soft crumbly delicate centre". The perfect cheese to enjoy over this coming weekend.

Join us outside the shop on Tuesday 29th September from 10am for a Lyburn Farmhouse Cheese sampling. Jonathan will be on hand to talk you through the wonderful cheeses made only 17 miles (30mins) from the shop! All of our Lyburn cheese comes direct from the makers and it will be a great opportunity for you to try some local award-winning cheeses.

This week we have the wonderfully buttery & slightly crumbly Trotter Hill Lancashire back in stock. It was a favourite when it was sampled out the front of the shop and we also have this alongside the milky & smooth Beacon Blue Goats cheese. Both are made by Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses and are available on the counter at £5.00 each.
