💚 FREE YOUTH COUNSELLING – REFERRALS NOW OPEN

We’re really pleased to share that referrals are now open for FREE youth counselling sessions at Castle Street Coffee in the Youth Shed.

Young people can be referred by a professional, or can self-refer.

Please get in touch with Jane for more information.

And we have to say… Jane is amazing, by the way! 💚 We’re so pleased to be able to offer this support to young people locally.

I thought Denny from the P&J was just popping in for a wee catch-up and to see some of the progress we’ve been making… but she’s gone and put together this beautiful article about our journey so far. 💚

We’re incredibly grateful. Sometimes when you’re so busy focusing on what still needs to be done, you forget to stop and look at just how far you’ve already come.

We know we’ve still got a way to go, but it’s really lovely to take stock for a moment and reflect on the progress so far.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, volunteered, popped in for a coffee, shared a post, donated, funded us and helped us along the way. We genuinely couldn’t have got this far without you. 💚

And thank you Denny for taking the time to tell our story — we really appreciate it!

We have some very exciting news for Castle Street Coffee CIC! 💚☕️

Thanks to funding from Foundation Scotland, we’ll soon be recruiting for a 2-day-a-week Coffee Shop & Youth Employability Lead.

Funded by Foundation Scotland, this role will help us with the coffee shop while developing and leading the employability opportunities we offer to young people.

Even more excitingly, alongside our volunteer programme, the funding will also allow us to offer paid work experience placements for young people — giving them the opportunity to gain real workplace experience, build confidence, develop new skills and take their first steps into employment.

As a social enterprise, supporting young people is at the heart of what we’re trying to achieve, so this is a really important milestone for Castle Street Coffee CIC. 💚

We’ll be sharing details of the new role and our paid placements very soon!

A huge thank you to Foundation Scotland for investing in our young people and helping us make this possible. 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who came to visit today, we love seeing our regulars and new first time visitors to our little coffee hatch!

It turned out to be a record breaking day for us, and we had a pretty young team on today! To say they were impressive is an understatement - I couldn’t have managed without them - thank you Ava, Brodie and Zevah! 💚🫶🏻
