WE ARE IN NEED OF A CLONING MACHINE!

We are sorry but the cafe will be closed on Saturday 4th July as we are at copcarnival 🥳

This was planned before the sale fell through and we also have staff on hols so without the use of a cloning machine we have had to make the decision to close for the day.

If you fancy a fun day out though & need your sugar fix pop along. We are taking our new event cart for a spin 🤩 Maybe see some of you there.

Well… this isn’t quite the update we thought we’d be sharing!

After months of planning, and constantly saying “we haven’t got a handover date yet” the sale of Milliefox has fallen through.

It’s not the outcome we expected, but after a lot of chocolate, swearing and regrouping, we’ve decided to look at this as a new chapter rather than a setback.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be looking at ways to refresh Milliefox, make better use of the space and bring you more of the things you love, cakes, treats, afternoon teas, events and celebrations.

So if there is anything you would really like to see at Milliefox then let us know. Whether thats a nee menu item, a cake idea, what you would like to see in our event space or something you would like us to change. Then DM us.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us, messaged us and kept showing up for cake. It honestly means more than you know.

So for now, we’re still here, still baking, still caffeinating the locals and apparently still making plans at 3am.

WE WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW!

Just to let you know Milliefox Cafe will be closed tomorrow! We have worked through the heat all week but Friday 26th is supposed to be the hottest day so we are letting the team stay home and keep cool.

Sorry for any inconvenience!

☀️ HOT WEATHER UPDATE ☀️

If you’re planning on popping into Milliefox tomorrow, we’ll be as happy as ever to see you! 💕

However, with the kitchen already feeling like the surface of the sun, we’ll be reducing our hot food menu to help keep temperatures manageable for the team.

That means we won’t be cooking breakfasts or some of our other hot dishes tomorrow. (Or until this heat wave disappears)

We will still have plenty available, including:

🥪 Fresh sandwiches
🥪 Paninis
🥔 Jacket potatoes
🍰 Cakes and sweet treats
🧋 Lots of iced drinks to help keep you cool

Sometimes I forget why I started Milliefox…
Then I find videos like this 🩷

Back in 2019, he was little enough to sit on the counter making chocolate bombs with me.
Now I’ve somehow got a teenager who’s taller than me, permanently hungry, and completely addicted to my brownies 😂

The truth is, Milliefox was never just about cakes.

I started the business because I wanted to be there for the moments that mattered.
School plays.
Sports days.
The hard days.
The proud days.
The random “Mum, I need…” moments.

I didn’t want to spend my life building somebody else’s dream while missing out on his childhood.

So I built my own instead.

It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ll always be proud that Milliefox gave me something corporate life never could… time.

And as life changes again, I’m excited for the next chapter for exactly the same reason 🩷

Anyone else blink and suddenly have a teenager? 🥹

Sometimes I get so caught up in the day-to-day chaos of running a business that I forget just how much I love making sugarpaste models 🥹

I’ve been looking back through over 10 years of cakes and found some of my favourites… from cute little teddy bears and foxes to dragons, Paddington, Disney characters and everything in between.

What people don’t always see is how much time goes into these little models.
The tiny details.
The texture work.
The hours spent trying to get expressions just right.
The moments where you question your sanity because a bear ear won’t stay on 😂

They can take forever… but honestly there’s something so satisfying about bringing a character to life from a lump of sugarpaste.

And nothing beats seeing a customer’s face when they collect their cake or reading a lovely message afterwards saying how much someone loved it ❤️

Cake trends change constantly, but sugar modelling will always have a little piece of my heart.
