I need to give my team a shout-out 💗 because the last few months at Milliefox have been… a lot!!

When I made the decision to sell the café, these guys had to deal with all the uncertainty that came with it. Then we got incredibly close to a sale, but I couldn’t go through with something that I knew would put their jobs in jeopardy. So the sale fell through.

Then came the slightly mad decision that actually, I wasn’t going anywhere! 😂 We were staying. We were giving Milliefox a proper go. And if we were doing it, we were doing it properly.

Cue the refurb…

And once again, this team just got stuck in. They painted, moved things, cleaned, organised, helped me put everything back together and somehow tolerated me changing my mind approximately 400 times along the way! 😆

Now the doors are back open and we’re starting a completely new chapter together. I know I’m the person you probably associate with Milliefox, but there’s a whole team behind it and I genuinely couldn’t do it without them.

They’ve stuck by me and this little business through a pretty bonkers few months. So this post is just for them.

Thank you, team Milliefox. I’m very, very lucky to have you 💗 Right then… let’s see what this next chapter has in store for us 👏

✨ COMING SOON ✨

One of the things I’m most excited to show you after the refurb is our event space 💗

We’ve made it bigger, given it some love, and created a space that can be used for SO much more than you might realise.

You can have your baby shower here. Bring everyone together for a birthday. Host a workshop. Get your team out of the office for the day. Run a class. Have afternoon tea with the whole family. Set yourself up with your laptop and work somewhere that also happens to have very good cake nearby! 😂

And because you’ve got Milliefox, we can help with the important bits too - food, drinks and, obviously, cake.

I really want to see this room being used by you to make incredible memories, so if you’ve got something in mind and you’re wondering if it would work in here, just ask me! 😊

You might give me an idea I haven’t even thought of yet! ✨

We’re back! 💗

If you’ve been wondering what we’ve been doing while the café doors have been closed… quite a lot, actually! 😂

The team and I have been giving Milliefox some much-needed love and getting everything ready to welcome you back, and the feedback so far has been AMAZING 🥰

There’s been painting, moving, reorganising, new signs going up, lots of little finishing touches and the inevitable moment where you start one job and somehow create another three.

But I’m SO pleased with how it’s all come together.

I wanted the café to feel fresh again, but still feel like Milliefox. Cosy, colourful, a little bit quirky and somewhere you can properly settle in with good coffee and something lovely to eat.

I’m particularly pleased with the new signs. You’ll have to have a read of them when you come in… some are very accurate! 😂

It feels really good to have the doors open again.

York, you’ve been asking us to open more… so we’re doing it! 🩷 And not only that, we’re doing it after a little refurb!

From Monday 7th September, Milliefox will be open 7 days a week, which means even more opportunities for breakfast dates, leisurely lunches, coffee catch-ups, afternoon teas (advanced booking only) and, obviously, something sweet from the counter 🧁☕️

We’re giving these new hours a real go, but there is one little catch… we need you to use them! 👀

So grab the friend you’ve been meaning to catch up with, bring your laptop for a change of scenery, pop in for that afternoon tea or simply visit because you fancy a really good coffee and a treat!

We’d LOVE to keep Milliefox open for you seven days a week 🦊💗

Event room launch in September!

We are so excited to be launching our new bigger, flexible event room in September!

Spent today moving the new tables & chairs around in the event room to see what we can fit in there.

We are adding a TV to the wall so that we can host small meetings & workshops. Pop pics on for parties or small wakes and possibly run a mini film night.

The space will be available to book for co working, parties, workshops, classes, baby showers or anything you fancy (as long as it’s legal 😂)

Choose room hire only or a fully catered package.

We have changed our menu!

So having spent 5 days refurbing our lovely cafe some of you might be thinking that the prices will be going up to cover the costs! So it might seem a bit strange that we have actually lowered the prices on a lot of our menu items.

The quality is still the same, we are not compromising on ingredients & we are not reducing the team but we are hoping what we have done will make sense to our regulars & encourage lots of new people to come and join us!

Firstly we are reducing waste. A lot of our products will now be served with homemade Coleslaw only. We are no longer adding nachos as we throw so many away. You can of course add salad to a dish or grab a bag of crisps but rather than continue to charge you for something most of you don’t eat we have removed it.

Breakfast & Lunch under £5.
We have reduced our Bacon, Sausage & Egg butties plus a few other bits so that you can eat under £5. We have also added a drinks offer for Take away orders, £2 for any take away hot drink with any breakfast butty.

This is so important to us as even though costs are crippling hospitality we still need customers & you need to be able to enjoy a trip out in a cost of living crisis.

The kids menu has changed so that you can bring the kids and not break the bank. They get a puzzle & colouring sheet. We have books to borrow & colouring books to enjoy.

We have also listened to you on opening times and when the schools go back we will be opening Sundays & longer hours during the week on a 6week trial to see if what you have all asked for you really want. 🤪

There are 12,400 people who live in Huntington so hoping to encourage some more of you in!

Lots of other new stuff coming as well.

Also we might have been in Huntington nearly 5yrs but I’m amazed how many people still don’t know we exist. So please like & Share with anyone you think might like our cafe & event space. Thank you.

Well the mini refurb has finished, it’s been both back breaking & hilarious! Who need professional decorators when you have girl power 😂😂😂
I’m not sure if more paint was on us or the walls but we got there in the end!
