Merrie England Coffee Shops

28/07/2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Merrie England.

After 60 years, this has been an incredibly difficult decision, and our thoughts are especially with the teams across our seven shops who have lost their jobs.

We know people may have strong feelings, but we kindly ask that comments are kept respectful. There are real people, families, staff, customers and suppliers affected by this news.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Merrie England over the years. Your loyalty and kindness have meant so much.

With sincere thanks,
Merrie England Coffee Shops Ltd

A HUGE shoutout to one of our amazing team.

Oliver, from our Oakes Shop recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

Even more incredible... They raised (so far) over £5,844.20 + £1,341.50 Gift Aid for Yorkshire Cancer Research. We’re so proud to have people like this in our team, and a big thank you to everyone who supported along the way.
