Happy 8th Birthday Slaithwaite Striders RC.

Happy Birthday to Us! 🥳🎉

Last night we got together to celebrate 8 years this month since Slaithwaite Striders was born! Beginning as small group runs with Club Captain Andy and his neighbours, an invitation was put out to the village and numbers grew quickly. Despite being much younger than many running clubs in the area, we've already been through covid lockdown restrictions (who remembers running in groups of 6?), the learning curve of keeping more and more runners safe, and we now organise two races each year! We can't wait to see what the next 8 years and beyond bring...

These days the club has well over 100 members, with our signature green kit seen at race startlines (and often podiums), both locally and across the country, every weekend. We're always keen to welcome new members to join us - come along to our club runs on Thursdays at 6.45pm, or send us a message to find out more 💚

Massive thanks to one of our sponsors, , for a lovely setting to celebrate and socialise last night. The food was exceptional as always - no mean feat for over 30 of us at once!

Last week a couple came and bought a bottle of champagne… they were celebrating as they had paid off their mortgage and they chose Destination. We can’t tell you how special this feels!!
