The calm after the storm… hopefully! 🤞🏻

We have a couple of hours of prep left for today’s TENTH ANNIVERSARY DENBY DASH and we can’t wait to see you all!

Registration opens at 9.30am with Tea and Coffee available, Dash Burgers will be ready to go from 10.00am and we have LIVE MUSIC for you from 11.00am this morning!

Kicking off with Shepley Beach Club, the father and son duo, followed by Mason Whittle from 1.00pm…

DASH DAY…

The Annual Denby Dash Race Day takes place TOMORROW, August Bank Holiday Monday…

And we have some important information for you to absorb!

Our car park will be CLOSED for the day…

FREE PARKING will be available just a few minutes walk away, down the road at the Kirklees Pinfold Depot… the post code is HD8 8TY and parking will be available from 9.15am ready for Junior Registration opening at 9.30am…

Please look out for the signs and our Race Maker stewards who will guide you in…

ALSO… to ensure the safety of competitors and spectators, Race Makers will be out on Coal Pit Lane, Greenfield Close and the end of Bank Lane within the village…

Between 10.30am and 11.30am for the Junior Races and between 12.00pm and 1.30pm for the Senior Race…

We would be very grateful for your co-operation to ensure that these sections of road are free of moving vehicles and horses during these times…

We’ll be open with HOT DRINKS available from 9.30am, and BURGERS from 10.00am, LIVE MUSIC from 11.00am and the BAR will be open whenever you’re ready for a more refreshing tipple!

It could be a day of all weathers so make sure you come prepared… waterproofs, sun hats, sun cream maybe! 😎

This year’s DENBY DASH is just 4 sleeps away and the Race Day Team are busy making sure everything is in place for the big day!

We need your help…

The Dash is the main fundraiser for the Denby Village Conservation Group and some of the money raised comes from the sale of CAKES and SAVOURIES…

Any donations would be very gratefully received!

If you’re a dab hand in the kitchen, have some spare ingredients at the back of your cupboard and some time over the weekend, we can make use of anything sweet… cakes, buns, muffins and traybakes, or savouries like sausage rolls, pork pie and pastry tarts…

Anything you can turn your hand to!

If your hand is not for turning, then any donations of prizes would also be amazing… this could be a box of chocolates or biscuits, bottle of wine or beer, a jar of jam or chutney, or something you’ve grown in your garden!

Anything and everything gratefully received… please drop everything in to us by 8.00pm on Sunday 30th August 🙏🏻

There’s just ONE WEEK to go until DASH DAY!

As it’s the TENTH ANNIVERSARY of the DENBY DASH this year we’ve a couple of additions to the day…

The FIRST one is that FANCY DRESS is absolutely encouraged!

It’s not compulsory but we would LOVE to see as many of you as possible dressed to impress and there’ll be extra PRIZES for the best costumes!

There’s no theme, anything that floats your boat!! 🖤💚

The SECOND thing is a CAKE!

We couldn’t mark the occasion without an Anniversary Cake so the lovely Fiona Scott has made an absolute showstopper for us!

This will be the FIRST PRIZE in the ANNIVERSARY RAFFLE and tickets will be available over the next week and on the day!

We’re chuffed to be welcoming Erin and the next HD8 Life CIC Social Collective on Tuesday the 6th of October…

“The Social Collective brings together people behind HD8's businesses, community groups and creative projects. It's a chance to finally meet some of those people you know from Instagram, have seen around at local events or have been meaning to introduce yourself to for ages.

It's an event where you come to realise that the useful connections aren't always the obvious ones... You might meet someone you end up working with, collaborating with or recommending to somebody six months down the line. Or you might simply leave knowing a few more of the people doing interesting things around our villages”

The evening will start at 6.30pm…

Tickets are £10 per person plus booking fee and include a welcome drink…

First day back at work for the hound! 🐾🖤

After what feels like a very long time Watson is finally feeling much better and looking forward to seeing everyone for a good ol’ catch up!

He’s not quite 100% yet, still some healing to do and a last little bit of infection to fight off but we’re getting there!

He’s hoping for a treat later when Mark and the Propig Kitchen have their HOG ROAST ready for your FOODIE FRIDAY! 😋
