💛 A very special thank you to The Ship 💛
We want to start with a HUGE thank you to everyone at The Ship Inn, Hoylake for their Bank Holiday Monday fundraiser, which raised an incredible £526.39 for Positivity Club CIC… 🥹💛 with also thanks 🙏 to The Travelling Wannabes Liverpool, On The Fly Boomin for their Incredible performances & support on the day too…
We’re so grateful for the continued support from The Ship and everyone who gets behind what we do. Every penny raised helps us continue supporting children and young people in our community.
The day was also a chance to celebrate something incredibly special – the Tim Hazelhurst Positivity Club Memorial Shield, created for wellbeing, activities and community effort. 🏆
Tim was a much-loved regular at The Ship and one of Jess and Positivity Club’s biggest supporters. He loved seeing young people getting involved in positive activities outside of school, so after he sadly passed away, his friends wanted to create something meaningful that would keep his memory, passion and values alive.
Rather than a plaque or a bench, they wanted something that could continue making a difference to a young person year after year – and that’s how Tim’s Shield came about. 💛
Each year, the award recognises a young person from Positivity Club who has shown courage, dedication, resilience and contribution to their community.
And it’s about more than receiving the shield. The young person’s name is added to Tim’s Shield, they receive a contribution towards the cost of an activity outside of school – whether that’s football, gymnastics, dance, music lessons or something else they love – as well as a voucher towards educational or sports materials for themselves. 🌟
It means the award can help that young person continue doing something positive, building their confidence, developing their interests and striving for more – exactly what Tim wanted to see young people doing.
This year’s winner is one of the wonderful young people Jess has been working with through our 1:1 sessions, and we couldn’t be prouder of her. 🥹
Since they began working together, she has come on leaps and bounds. Her self-confidence has blossomed and she has shown amazing perseverance and resilience along the way. Seeing her proudly holding Tim’s Shield was a really special moment. 💛
Every August Bank Holiday Monday, The Ship will continue to fundraise for Positivity Club, celebrate that year’s young person and, most importantly, celebrate and remember Tim.
A massive congratulations to our very deserving winner, and another huge thank you to The Ship, Tim’s friends and everyone who donated, fundraised and helped make all of this possible.
What a special way to keep Tim’s memory alive – by helping young people keep growing, keep trying and keep believing in themselves. 🌱💛
