Hovingham Bakery is based in Hovingham. A small quiet countryside village in North Yorkshire. We would like to offer a traditional country bakery with a Swedish twist. We look forward to seeing you really soon.

The roof works are ongoing, and we’re looking forward to having a lovely new roof soon. A big thank you toHovingham Estatee for continuing to invest in the village and supporting local businesses.

We remain open as usual throughout the work, with customer parking still available at the front of the shop.

🚧 Hovingham Bakery Update – Open as Usual 🥐

The scaffolding is now up and will be in place for the next few weeks while we carry out building improvements.

We’re still open as normal with our usual opening hours, and customer parking remains available at the front of the shop.

Everything inside is business as normal — fresh bread, cakes, and pastries ready for you daily!

Meet SJ – Our 15-Year-Old Bacon Sandwich Regular 🐾

At Hovingham Bakery, we love all our customers—but some hold a very special place in our hearts. One of those is SJ, our wonderful 15-year-old dog who visits us regularly for her absolute favourite treat: a freshly made bacon sandwich.

Despite being in her golden years, SJ still arrives with excitement, tail wagging, and an unmistakable sense of purpose. She knows exactly what she wants—and we’re always happy to see her.

There’s something incredibly special about long-standing customer traditions, and SJ has become part of the bakery family. Her visits remind us that good food, familiar places, and a warm welcome matter at every age—whether you’re human or four-legged.
