Some myths squashed…
❓ “You’re a new café?”
Nope 😂
We’ve actually been here for 7 years!

❓ “Are you part of a chain?”
Absolutely not.
We’re proudly independent and owned by Yvonne…
the Scottish woman who, according to the staff, is “never here” 👀

❓ “Where did the idea for Café Number 4 come from?”
Well… back in 2008, I had a midlife crisis, went to Australia, and came home wanting two things:
☕ A coffee shop
🐶 A Labradoodle
Dougal is now 15 years old…
and Café Number 4 is 7 ❤️

❓ “Do you allow dogs?”
Of course! 🐾

In fact, they’re often better behaved than their owners 😂

Once again, I’d like to say the biggest thank you for your support, loyalty, recommendations, reviews, laughter — and for choosing us when there are so many places you could spend your time and money.

Here’s to the next chapter.

🎉 CAFÉ NUMBER 4 IS 7 YEARS OLD TODAY! 🎉

Seven years ago, we opened our doors with a lot of hope, a quick refurbishment, and probably a healthy dose of naivety 🙄.

Since then, we’ve navigated Covid, closures, reopenings, challenges, lessons, mistakes, and plenty of memorable moments along the way.
Today, Café Number 4 is stronger than ever, and that’s entirely down to you.

To our customers who have supported us from day one, and to those who have only recently discovered us, thank you.

Thank you for every coffee, brunch, recommendation, review, share, and visit. Thank you for choosing to support an independent business.

Without you, there simply wouldn’t be a Café Number 4 ❤️

If you joined us today, you’ll know exactly why our Creamy Burrata sold out! 😍

Served with peppery rocket, heritage tomatoes, fresh pesto, and our homemade cheesy pumpkin-seeded crispbread, it disappeared almost as quickly as we could serve it.

The sun may not be making an appearance tomorrow ☁️... but just look at those heritage tomatoes — they practically scream sunshine! ☀️🍅

I don’t often get the chance to actually sit down and enjoy the ambiance here… but today I did, and honestly? I may be biased, but I kinda love it here 🤍 xx
