From sourcing our potatoes locally to using recyclable cardboard packaging and choosing 100% non-GM rapeseed oil, we're always looking for ways to make more responsible choices.

For 25 years, British Food Fortnight has been celebrating the incredible food, farming and producers that make British food something to be proud of.

At Whiteheads, we're proud to play our small part by supporting local producers and choosing British ingredients wherever we can. From our locally grown East Yorkshire potatoes to the fresh fish we serve, keeping things local is an important part of what we do.

For us, sustainability isn't about making one big change — it's about making better choices wherever we can.

One of those choices is our potatoes. We source them from a local East Yorkshire grower, helping us keep the journey from field to fryer short.

That means supporting a local farmer, reducing food miles and using fantastic British produce right here in our shop. 🥔

We've now switched to Sagitta potatoes, our latest seasonal crop, and they're already producing some seriously tasty chips.

Changing potato varieties throughout the year helps us use each crop at its best, and Sagitta is known for its great flavour, fluffy inside and golden, crispy finish.

Same award-winning chips, just a delicious new seasonal potato.
