CLOSED.
Hi everyone, firstly my apologies for taking so long to message. It has been a turbulent 6 months with the 4 years prior being equally as testing. I had to sadly make the decision to close following Octobers floods. It was the straw that broke the camels back and it was a very difficult decision. Over the last 19 years I have had a wonderful bunch of customers, many who became friends. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. Thank you to the team, without them we could not have operated. Best wishes to you all for what I hope will be exciting new adventures. I appreciate everything you gave to Shakesbys.
I have recently started at The Ingram Arms in Laughton near Gainsborough. If you’re passing please call in. There will be some of Shakesby’s favourites along with The Ingrams favourite dishes.
I cannot turn off comments but due to still being a tad emotional I may read at a later date. Thank you all so much. Mark and the team.

Just an update and a big thank you to all customers, staff, family, friends and strangers who have sent kind messages and best wishes. Every one is appreciated and it means a lot.
Due to the slow process of insurance and enormity of the task, I have decided it would be wrong to take reservations for December, with no solid opening date to work to. But January will bring a new year and a new dry floor! Watch this space and thanks again, Mark

Good evening from Shakesbys. Just to update that following the flooding we continue to be closed. We are working with the insurance company and environmental health to ensure everything is done properly after the significant impact on the restaurant.
We cannot speculate on a reopening date at this time but will contact customers that are already booked in as needed.

Good morning everyone. Due to the flooding yesterday we are sadly closed until further notice.
We sincerely apologise to those people who are booked in with us and had planned to celebrate special occasions.
Thank you to each and everyone of you who has contacted the restaurant with messages of support. It means a lot. Yet again small businesses have been hit by something out of their control and we also send our best wishes to fellow traders who have been affected.
We will update as and when we can. Until then stay safe and support each other.

Evening all,

The restaurant will be closed next week for our annual break.

Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for a busy and enjoyable summer, we will be open again as usual from 5pm on Wednesday the 20th September.

Unfortunately for the first time in 18 years I will have to close this evening due to illness and only me in the kitchen. Apologies to those customers that I will ring and cancel tables for tonight.
