We've got an announcement!

From the Wednesday 25th of June, The Workhouse will be opening from 8:30am on Weekdays. (and closing a tiny bit earlier at 2:30pm)

We'll also be introducing some new breakfasty items to our menu for you to grab and go on a morning.

To start with these will include granola pots (made by us- of course!) as well as a few small bits.

I'm also delighted to announce we'll be selling pastries from the wonderful Sam at Mcgravils!

A limited Workhouse Special:

Strawberry Cheesecake Vatrushka

I only managed to buy a couple of things from the Street Fayre but winter strawberry jam from Vintage JAMS Yorkshire was one of them. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

I've been wanting to bring Vatrushka to the shop for a while so here they are:

Sweet

Pillowy

Delicious

Soft yeasted dough filled with sweetened cream cheese and strawberry jam, topped with crunchy streusel. A divine Eastern European pastry.

(The eagle eyed will spot there is one missing, I couldn't help myself, they are really that good)

I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us at the Street Fayre and volunteers who enable this wonderful event to go ahead every year!

It was our first Street Fayre as a shop and it's been absolutely wonderful (and a massive learning curve!).

Thank you so much for bearing with us especially when there was a wait on for coffees.
It doesn't take long to order 4-5 drinks, it does take a bit longer to make them and when we had an order in every minute they stacked up!

Thank you so much again, it was an absolutely amazing event to be a part of.

I might have recovered by the next one!

The Workhouse will be closed tomorrow.

Sorry for that late notice. I've still got an absolute mountain of stuff to sort for the Street Fayre and prepping on such a large scale is truthfully something I've never done before. As much as I'm loathe to admit it- I'm only human!

Closing tomorrow will give me the chance to get things as perfect as you all deserve.

I am immensely grateful for everyone of you ❤️

We will open Saturday morning with the coffee flowing as soon as everything is dialled in and discounts for everyone trading over the weekend ❤️
