So I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself to my new followers....
I'm Bex, owner and creator of Caru Coffi π
I often get asked at our current location is Caru Coffi new? The answer is no not exactly π
My coffee journey started many years ago in a high street coffee shop chain in Aberystwyth! β
In my many years of service to this company I learnt a lot and worked in many different stores across Wales.
I decided back in 2014 that I wanted to create my own little world of supporting other independent businesses and a vision to serve quality coffee from something unique and personal to me with my own spin on it.
I came up with the name Caru Coffi meaning love coffee in Welsh π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ I was born in Wales and most of my childhood/ early adulthood was in Aberystwyth!
My brother James designed my logo ( I knew exactly how I wanted it and he delivered it!) π
Living in Pembrokeshire for a few years I came across a fabulous roastery called Capital Roasters Ltd, Phil has been our supplier since 2015! And we receive raving reviews about his beans and our coffee and service β€οΈ
I started off with a 1976 CF Bedford ice cream van, attending food festivals, music festivals and weddings and also corporate events!
This has allowed me to travel around and learn new things and also push and challenge myself (17hr shifts and the Bedford breaking down and serving over 500 flat whites at a festival to name just a few)
I've met so many amazing people over the years π
In 2017 I opened up a coffee shop (Caru Coffi at 53)in Whitchurch Shropshire, turned an old fancy dress shop into a warm welcoming place to recharge and relax π whilst still doing the odd festival and event here and there in the Bedford π
In 2020 we had our son Idris (via emergency C-section) during COVID (fun times π) in this time we had a break from Caru Coffi and relocated to Hampshire π
So here I am 2026, myself & Deian (my other half) converted a vintage Rice trailer (technically shouldn't break down on the way to or from a festival π€£) still serving amazing coffee and giving it my best just in a new permanent location at Trimmers cottage Winchfield, I've already met so many amazing people and love listening to different stories π
My neighbours are just the best and everyone in the Village have been so accommodating!
I have so many ideas for Caru Coffi in this location but for now we have until the end of September to trade. π₯°
So if you've not visited Caru Coffi yet, get a wiggle on and come say hello, grab a coffee and cake and relax in our beautiful garden and see the animals π¦πππ
