TSIKNOPEMPTI (SMOKEY THURSSAY) MASQUERADE PARTY
The Mardi Gras (Carnival) season in Greece is made up of three themed weeks of celebration. The first week is dedicated to preparations 'The Pre-announcement Week', the second week is dedicated to meat 'The Meat Week' and the third week is dedicated to cheese 'The Cheese Week'.
Tsiknopempti (Smokey Thursday) Festival is held on the Thursday of second week of Mardi Gras and represents a highlight in a weeklong celebration of meat consumption.
The festivities on Tsiknopempti revolve around Masquerade Parties where massive amounts of meat are grilled or roasted, with live music and lots of dancing
This year, we will celebrate the Tsiknopempti (Smokey Thursday) with a Masquerade Party on the 7th of in The Jekyll and Hyde, A33 Reading – Basingstoke Rd, RG27 0AX, serving many traditional delicacies and dancing to live Greek music.

We can’t promise that our roasts will be better than your mums’ or your grans’, and frankly we have no right to compare them, but we can pretty much guarantee that they’ll be at least *almost* as good.

Our slowly roasted meats are accompanied by all of the trimmings: duck fat roasties, Yorkshire puddings, a great variety of seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese and homemade sauces.
