Good morning 🙂

Well, yesterday certainly went off with a flying start to the term. It was lovely to see soooo many of you enjoying the sunshine.

To say we were bowled over by your reactions to our news would be an understatement, we never ceased to be amazed by your support and encouragement. The excitement was palpable and buzzing yesterday and knowing we’ve got your backing makes us push harder!

No groups today, those will start next week , but pop in for a cuppa or a slice of cake 💚

What an absolutely incredible Summer we have had here at The Treehouse.

We have been busier than we have ever been in the history of our beloved little non profit organisation.

Rachel and I have been blown away by everyone who chose to join us each day, it’s been so special to welcome familiar faces and new faces each day - all the kindness, care, thoughtfulness, love and positive energy of all our visitors is contagious and even though it has been hard work and pretty exhausting we have loved every minute.

The last few days we’ve been feeling a bit sentimental and been thinking back to how we started…We built this place from nothing but our values of justice for the community when a great deal of services and support were being lost across our communities not just here but across the country.

We had the determination to create a place where everyone is equal the moment they step through the door and can access support, join groups, meet and make friends with others that they may not usually meet otherwise.
A place where even though Rachel and I are are not professionals we are people with lived experience and empathy and we can find and gather help if it’s needed or simply stop and listen to you.

When we set up The Treehouse seven years ago there was so much political division within our community and across the country, which polarised beliefs and views and created chasms of separation between us all that it was unbearable to witness, so we created this place. That instead of division we come together with love, open mindedness and respect for each other, my dad said a few years ago that The Treehouse is like a haven in a chaotic world. So many people over the years have said they can feel the positivity when they walk in.

From starting with nothing-no money, no one else actually believed we could do what we had dreamed of. It was an achievement to even open the doors let alone get through lockdowns and financial crisis after crisis and working with very little to becoming a thriving organisation where many times we have joked we’d love to push the walls out to make the space bigger as we literally have outgrown our space!
Well. We have exciting news for September, we have giganticus ideas and plans and incredible support from other organisations to help The Treehouse community grow even BIGGER.
We would love you to join us on this next stage of our exciting adventure as truth be told we are nothing without you.

We are now on our holibobs but will be back open on 3rd September. But if you’d like to be a Treehouse volunteer and be part of something remarkably special just message us as even though we are resting we can’t wait to hear from you!
Lots of love and see you soooooon 💚

Good morning lovely people, today is Friday 14th and it’s our last day open before Rachel and I go on our holibobs 🎉
It has been the busiest summer holiday of all the years The Treehouse Holt-our special little non profit organisation has been open and we have LOVED it-if not feeling rather pooped and with achey feet.

We do need your help though, we need more volunteers who are eager to support our community by giving just three hours of their time a week.

We have so many incredible plans for September but we are unable to advertise the group schedule yet because without a larger team we simply cannot provide the groups and support -it really is as simple as that.
So if you, or someone you know may like to give a little back to the community or simply meet new people and work in a friendly team please contact us.
We are looking for people who would like to muck in and do some or all of the following once a week for three hours …
💚 wash up, dry up,
💚clear tables
💚serve
💚use the till and welcome folk
💚even learn to use the coffee machine and make a cracking cuppa and make people happeeeee

Without you we can’t grow and offer all the amazing things we have planned-it WILL be incredible. Please share 🥰😚

It’s going to be a hot one! We have lots of shady spots in our three acre garden for you to meet with friends, watch your children play or sit quietly and read a book.

Today is Thursday and we are looking forward to welcoming you to our incredible place.
💚We have cakes and bakes, brunches and lunches.
💚a community fridge - saving food waste whilst helping people save on their food costs.
💚We have a vegetable garden growing food which we share with the community and use in our free community cauldron soup.
💚our pride and joy is the large enclosed ‘wild garden’ for your wild little peeps to run and explore the mowed pathways in the (dry) meadow. We have tough trays with play activities and a gorgeous mud kitchen.

This place is remarkable, it’s remarkable because of the people that help us in our vision to create a community of support, real support and care.
We are what we are because of our volunteers who rock up once a week and make lunches or wash up, clear tables, welcome you and have a chat, or make coffee, or fill the community fridge, or w**d the garden or maintain and mend our broken bits and bobs.
Without volunteers who give three hours a week to the community we would not be able to offer the vast array of groups, services and support that we do.
Thank you to our team and if you or anyone you know would like to join us and volunteer three hours a week please contact us via messenger or on our volunteer enquiry form on our website 💚

Happy Monday to one and all.

We are entering the fourth week of the summer holidays and our last week before our summer break.

Many people have been asking about our group schedule for September and we will do our very best to get it out for viewing by the end of this week. We are like metaphorical swans at the moment - relatively calm on the surface but furiously paddling away under the water trying to get things organised.

Come along today for coffee, cake and chat 💚

P.S. just a quick prewarning that we will be closed on Wednesday this week.

We all know this is how Rachel measures things.
This has been proved by sooo many questionable purchases over the years.

BUT.

Apparently, this is exactly how many new volunteers we need for
September ….. so, on this occasion we’ll take her word for it.

Can you help?
Please come and talk to us!

We have so many exciting plans in the pipeline but we need you, we need additions to our team.

We can’t wait to hear from you 💚

Gooooood morning!! It’s Friday and wow, the rain last night was an amazing relief. Here are our newest baby salad leaves, each with their very own moat around them so that every time they are watered the water pools without running off elsewhere. These beauties will be ready for serving in a few weeks time.
I hid them from the intensity of the sun under a blanket for the last few days and Im looking forward to taking it off today and let them enjoy the breeze and the damp air.

We pride ourselves on sowing, nurturing, and serving our very own produce from the garden to the kitchen to your plates-it has been particularly challenging this year but we seem to thrive on a challenge!
Anyhoo it’s Friday and we are open 9-2, lots to do in the garden and space for your little peeps to run and let off steam, it’s a perfect place to meet friends or sit quietly.
See you in a while crocodile 🐊
