We are so lucky to have Julia from The Quiet Reset start her new meditation group in our beautiful yurt today at 9.30.
It is £5 for an hour of guided meditation and nurture finished with a delicious hot chocolate. A special time to give to yourself amongst a busy, hectic and rushed life.

Today Twiglets becomes Messy Play. From 9.30 til 10:15 in our wild garden led by Rachel. It’s going to be fantastic.

At 12.30 join me in the Community Roots garden where we are growing vegetables to share. Quite a bit of weeding this week.

Right, gather round as this is news that I can only bear to whisper: unfortunately our Harmony singing group is a taking a break. It doesn’t currently have a leader and while one or other of us could jump in (yes, yes we know it would have to be Lorna!) it wouldn’t be quite right.
We waited a really long time for the particular group to form and it needs to be spot on, so we are holding back until we can give it the rebirth it deserves - please bear with us.

Believe it or not-I’ve been making music with little people and their families for 18 years now!! I’m an Early Years music specialist and before that, wayyyyyy back as a Hospital Play specialist.

I love making music with children because it isn’t just about music education it is far more. It’s developing a relationship, a friendship with the children, it’s creating a place where children can feel comfortable expressing themselves and know they are heard whether they are verbal or non verbal. It’s witnessing the incredible growth and confidence that these little humans gain from being together and sharing a space and developing friendships together, I could go on-I’m pretty passionate about it.

Even after 18 years, each session is so different because every person I meet is different.
I had always dreamed of having a place where I could run my music groups, rather than traveling daily to different places throughout the County.

Back then I had no idea I would meet Rachel at one of my groups and make friends and then together we dreamed up The Treehouse! It was far beyond my dreams at the time and it’s now incredible and a remarkable place-always go large with your dreams!!

I now run three music groups from our beautiful yurt in the wild garden in the grounds of our beloved Treehouse. (Mixed ages Tuesdays at 9.30, Fridays at 9.30 and Songbirds for babies and their families 10.30 on Fridays)

This photo is of me back in the day with a gorgeous group of little people who I believe are at high school! I’m sure I’ll look back to today and say ahhh back in the day!

Today, as hopefully you know is Tuesday and we have

2.10 Chair yoga in the yurt with Emma-(pre booked)

As ever, our community fridge is re filled daily by our wonderful volunteers, and our cafe is run by ourselves and volunteers serving great coffee, brunches and lunches, cakes and bakes. The groups we run ourselves are free so that everyone has equal access.

A large percentage of our ‘sort out’ week last week seemed to revolve around tables; talking about tables, swearing about tables, moving tables, sanding tables, painting tables, moving more tables.

As you can see, some of our tables are no longer the colour they were.

Funny story:

💚 Rachel - “I know you’re going to think
I’ve gone loopy but I was thinking why don’t we paint the tables dark blue?”
💚 Lorna (digging into a bag) - “funny you should say that because I brought this paint with me!”

It’s a good job we use our powers for good 🤣

Gooooood morning-we are closed this half term week so Rachel and I can get on with some SERIOUS sorting, clearing, mending, repairing which we can’t do when we are open.
First job of the week was to clear out the craft cave-that may or may not have become a teeny weeny bit of a dumping ground 🙄🫣 buuuuut on the bright side Rachel found her sunglasses and I found my old tiara 👑 so all is well in the world now.

It would appear that we have Treehouse Elves; however, instead of coming in during the night and fixing things, they actually come and wobblify the tables (what do you mean that’s not a real word!)

After many attempts at fixing we have been forced to remove some of them for safety reasons.

So……
