Unique holiday accommodation is available year round in the West Wing of the Hall, Chloe’s Cottage and our pretty cottages some of which look out over Cley Windmill and its surrounding marshland. Email [email protected]. We also have Amber’s Bell Tents on site for a glamping alternative. Nestled in the heart of the North Norfolk coast you will find the beautifully secluded Wiveton Weddings and Events, where we are delighted to offer you a truly enchanting space for your unforgettable day. Whether you choose our wonderful Sunk Garden, walled lawn, or unbeatable marquee marsh view area, there is undoubtedly something to suit everyone.

It’s a race against the squirrels at Wiveton Hall.

Desmond is busy harvesting walnuts, using a rather impressive bamboo pole cut from the bottom of the garden.

The walnuts will be dried and stored away to enjoy throughout winter.

Do you have a favourite way of enjoying walnuts, or are they best eaten straight from the shell?

Kitchen Garden | Autumn, Part 1
There’s plenty still growing in the Kitchen Garden, but Desmond’s already thinking about what comes next.

Some rather determined agapanthus need to come out, which may involve squeezing a mini digger through the door, with plans to rerun peaches to the Kitchen Garden.

If you could add one new addition to the Kitchen Garden what would it be?

Out on the marsh with Desmond’s friend Oscar, to see if there are any ducks coming in.

But things are changing…find out what Desmond sees on the marshes now, that he didn’t used to see.

And that’s a wrap on this year’s guided garden tours.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, wandered the gardens and joined Desmond for a tour — it’s been lovely to welcome so many of you.

The guided tours may be finished for the year, but self-guided visits are still welcome until the end of September.

And, judging by the quinces, autumn is getting on with things rather nicely.

We look forward to doing it all again next year.

A new addition to Wiveton Hall HQ… the whiteboard.

A busy start to the week, with plenty happening behind the scenes and Desmond is getting organised.

Wiveton Hall is beginning to embrace autumn. 🍂

Shorter days, crackling fires and slow evenings in the cottages.

Desmond admiring the Acacia, which, despite the dry year, is looking remarkably green.

Ideal apparently, if you’re a goat.

10 years since Normal for Norfolk.

Desmond and Edmund are still keeping an eye on the wells — with Edmund, naturally, still providing free labour.

Thankfully, this one is doing very well indeed. And the gnome, as ever, has resisted the temptation.
