We had a few customers yesterday who said while there were all sorts of delicious and interesting food and drink to be had at the Food Festival they couldn’t get a nice cup of tea - so just a reminder we are here for you for that! Both for takeaway and sit in or at our outside tables if you need to rest your legs 🫖

**This has to be one of Chrissie’s favourite jobs so far this year**

Chrissie has just got back from showing a lovely family over from Ireland the sites from Last of The Summer W**e, we drove round to see The White Horse Inn, Red Lion Inn, Clegg and Howard’s house.

We then parked up in Holmfirth and took to foot (not all travel as to be in the mini bus ☺️) we stopped off at Dixons Milk Ices Official.., The Wrinkled Stocking Tearoom
whilst checking out Nora’s and Compo’s House, then our final stop was Sid's Cafe. John had a great time and bought lots of Memorabilia to take back to Ireland, Chrissie fair enjoyed herself on the trip too.

New business along Hollowgate: Ivy+Mar! We like to think it’s named after our Ivy in LOTSW! Beautiful jewellery to buy at local markets and they also offer workshops where you can make your own.

This coming weekend sees the return of Holmfirth Food & Drink Festival. There’ll be lots of food and drink to tempt you but if you fancy a nice sit down we’ll be open 9.30am-4pm each day. We have delicious homemade soups and cakes along with sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, scones and toasted tea-cakes. We also serve a wide range of hot and cold drinks, including Yorkshire Tea of course! We’re hoping for sunshine and have plenty of outdoor seating at the front of the cafe and in our tea-garden at the back.

All stalls will be open from Saturday 12th September, 10am – 6pm (all stalls in the Towngate area are open until 8pm) and Sunday 13th September from 10am – 5pm.

This coming Friday 11th September sees the start of Holmfirth Heritage Week. In fact there’s ten days of open buildings, in exhibitions, talks, walks and local stories across the Holme Valley. This year’s theme, Hearth & Holme, explores the idea of home in its widest sense, the houses, mills, farms, churches, workshops, streets, stories and gathering places that have shaped life in the valley.
