Nick only makes food he loves with ingredients he is proud to use and believes that you will fall in love after the first bite too! Nick has been open on weekend evenings since 2011, offering a range of delicious dishes with the option of private dining and bespoke menus proving very popular and many guests have celebrated their special occasions at Nicks. Nick's Kitchen is a lovely intimate venue and for those private bookings Nick will design a bespoke menu to meet your individual needs. You can bring your own alcohol for a small corkage charge of £2.25 per head. Our upcoming evening dates are available on our website. Nick is also taking bookings for AL A CARTE EVENINGS offering a range of delicious dishes. If you would like to see a sample Al a carte menu please get in touch and we will forward one to you. Nick has spent many long hours working in hot restaurant kitchens around the world, learning and perfecting different styles of cooking. From Germany to Australia, Nick worked his way up from Commis Chef at the age of 17 to Operations Head Chef for The Living Room chain of restaurants, working in their Head Office with responsibility for 8 regional Head Chefs and an ever changing, seasonal menu. With a degree in Hotel and Catering Management from Sheffield Hallam University and a love of Yorkshire, Nick’s extensive experience and passion have led to the opening of Nick’s Kitchen – fulfilling a lifetime dream to make the food he wants, his way!

It is with great pleasure that I can announce the official opening of Philomena Foggs in Thongsbridge, Holmfirth...
This brilliant original new cafe in Thongsbridge is the brainchild of Alison Wagstaff (of Cupcake World) who's outlook shared along with mine is to create and serve fantastic food and drinks using locally sourced products for you all to enjoy in a relaxed and unique environment.
I am very excited to join the team at Philomena Foggs as head chef and along with my fellow brigade of chefs bring some delicious food to the Holme Valley.

This post is potentially the hardest few lines I have had to write in many years. I have come to the very hard to decision that after nearly 5 years I'm sad to announce that Nick's Kitchen is to cease trading. At the end of this month, I will be closing my kitchen door for the last time.
I would like to sincerely thank all of you who have eaten with me across the years but especially to my very regular and loyal customers and guests who have made Nick's Kitchen a great success and a truly great place to work.

A big thank you must also be said to my front of house staff who have worked with me throughout the journey and especially to Stephanie who's hard work, commitment and great nature have contributed to Nick's Kitchen's success.

I've been gifted working in the Holme Valley with all the superb produce I have had to work with and so a thank you to all the local suppliers I have used over the years aiding me to make my food as tasty as possible. Thanks to Sharland butchers, Andrew's, C+J milk, Holmfirth Fresh fish and Brindon Addy butchers.

I am obviously very sad to be closing and leaving the Holmfirth community but I'm not moving too far... if anyone wishes to trade in their farmhouse breakfast for a mechanics breakfast you will find me up at the Carding Shed in Hepworth taking up a new role as head chef working alongside the current team of the Oil Can Cafe.

This is an exciting new era of my life that I'm entering into and I look forward to cooking for you again soon in a new venue for me, the Oil Can.
