The smell of home ❤️

Every morning, before most people have even started their day, there’s something special happening here.

The smell of freshly baked bread… crispy bacon… and that first proper coffee of the morning. ☕🥓🍞

For me, The Meal was never just about selling food.

I wanted to create a little place that reminds people of something we sometimes miss in this busy world — home.

The kind of place where you walk in early on your way to work and someone knows your order.
Where a warm bacon sandwich can make a difficult morning feel a little better.
Where the smell of coffee takes you back to sitting in the kitchen with your grandma, waiting for breakfast. ❤️

This café is for the busy boys and girls heading to work before sunrise, for the builders, carers, drivers, nurses, shop workers, office workers — everyone who keeps this community moving while most of the world is still asleep.

And wherever possible, we keep it simple: good food, local products, fresh ingredients and honest portions.

I’m not trying to build something fancy.

I’m trying to build a place with a heart.

A little corner of Holmewood where people can start their day with a smile, a hot coffee, a proper breakfast… and maybe for a few minutes, feel like they’re at home.

Because sometimes it’s not the food we remember.

It’s the smell.
It’s the feeling.
It’s the people.
It’s home. ❤️
