We think it’s about time we showed you an insight as to where we are up to and what we have planned for The Old Vicarage.

🚜 - We are in the process of creating a much larger parking area at the rear of the building with our new stone wall! We will also be re surfacing the entire car park with new tarmac.

🍺- The markings are done ready to begin work on our new riverside b**r garden & dining area next week.

📚- Decorating has begun in the garden room & library and it is starting to take shape! Ready for a parquet floor finish to begin next week!

🛌 - We have removed all of the beds and mattresses and are awaiting new delivery of larger and comfier beds!

🎨- Decorating in the bedrooms is nearly complete & we have fitted new carpets throughout plus new bathroom floors!

🌧️ - Wayne is working on all of our roofing and guttering to make sure we are ready for the inevitable weather!

🔨 - We are fixing up all the front render - sorry to those who thought it was an interesting pattern!

🏠- Currently restoring The Mill House.

🌳 - We have cut back all the trees at the front and replaced with a new low laurel hedge to hopefully allow for easier pulling out!

🚽- All of our toilets are being fully refurbished and the flooring is the first step which has just started!

Everything is going to start pulling together soon and work starts next week on the bar and the main restaurant area and we will be sure to keep you posted, we can’t wait to welcome you in, cheers! 🥂

Our Library might not look like much just yet… but trust us, it’s going to be one of your favourite spots for celebrating those special moments! 🤍

It’s such a versatile space and we’re so excited about what it’s going to become. Licensed for wedding ceremonies, it’s the perfect setting for your drinks reception and canapés, a beautiful space for your wedding breakfast, or somewhere to let your hair down and dance the night away at your evening reception 🪩

And it’s not just for weddings! ✨

Whether you’re planning a birthday, anniversary, christening, celebration of life, or simply getting your favourite people together, we’d love for The Library to be part of it! 🥂

Last week we contacted Holmes Chapel Library to see if they could help us find some old photographs of The Old Vicarage, and they came back with this absolute gem from the 1940s! Thank you!! 📸

We love that it shows off our new (OLD) name! ❤️

We’ve chosen the winner of our competition, and as a little thank you for giving us the idea to honour the history of such a beautiful building…

🥁🥁🥁 Our winner is… Lynda Giller! 🎉 Please get in touch to book your table!

We love seeing old photos and hearing your lovely memories of The Old Vicarage, so please do keep them coming! If you have a photo, story or memory to share, we’d love to hear from you. 🌿

✨ A RETURN TO OUR ROOTS IN CRANAGE ✨

We’re delighted to be bringing back the building’s original name as seen in these throwback pictures!

THE OLD VICARAGE 🏡

For many years, this beautiful building has been known as the vicarage, and we feel that The Old Vicarage perfectly reflects its character, heritage and place at the heart of the Cranage community.

As we prepare for an exciting new chapter, we’re proud to honour the building’s history while creating somewhere special for the future.

We’re currently closed during the refurbishment and look forward to reopening in October. We can’t wait to welcome you to The Old Vicarage and share everything we’ve been working on.

🎉 WIN A MEAL FOR TWO! 🎉

To celebrate the return of the name, we’re giving one lucky winner a 3 course meal for two at The Old Vicarage when we reopen.

Please note our booking system is not live yet however it will be ready in the near future.

✨ MEET THE OWNERS ✨

Ahead of our new opening, we thought we should introduce ourselves!

We are Jose (R) & Nathan (L), the new owners of The Vicarage! 🥂

We may be new to The Vicarage, but this isn’t our first rodeo… For the past 11 years, we have been the extremely proud owners of The Plough Inn, Eaton, just 10 minutes down the road from The Vicarage.

After 11 years of running The Plough, we’re bringing our experience, passion and love of hospitality to The Vicarage — and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come! ❤️

🚧 The Vicarage will be closed for the next six weeks while we give the venue an exciting refurbishment.

And trust us… you’re going to want to follow along. 👀

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing:

✨ BTS refurbishment updates
👀 Sneak peeks of what’s to come
🎉 Competitions & giveaways
🍽️ New menus
🥂 Wedding & venue updates
📅 And, of course, our opening date!

There’s going to be lots happening behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to take you on the journey with us. You won’t want to miss what’s coming!

Please rest assured, we have contacted all current bookings and are making our way through future bookings. We promise you’re in safe hands! If somehow we have missed your booking, please email [email protected] and we will resolve this issue.

We are also recruiting Chef de Parties, Kitchen Porters and Housekeeping Team Members. Please email [email protected] for more information!

Here’s to a very exciting new chapter at The Vicarage. We can’t wait to welcome you in! 🥂

Our talented kitchen team are getting a well deserved rest!

The sun is making work a little harder than usual and it's tough on our kitchen team, so we're giving them a break and closing for food service. BUT... we're still open for drinks! Enjoy sips in the sunshine or pre-match pints this weekend at The Vicarage.

We will be showing the England game tomorrow evening, first come first served!

See you there?
