💷 Could you help us build a stronger financial future for our community café?

The Signal Box Café is looking for a volunteer Finance Adviser to support us through an exciting new chapter and help guide the future of our much loved community space in Hollingbourne.

We’re looking for someone with experience in finance, accounting or bookkeeping who can help us build strong financial foundations, including budget management and financial planning.

This is a temporary advisory role, giving you the opportunity to get to know our friendly Board and the café before deciding whether becoming a Director could be right for you.

You don’t need previous Board experience, and the time commitment is just 5 hours (approx.) per week, with a little extra support during the transition.

Experience with CICs or charities would be a bonus, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to share their skills and help our community café continue to thrive. ❤️

More than a café. The heart of our community. ❤️

The Signal Box Café is about so much more than great coffee and delicious breakfasts.

It’s a place where people come together.

Over food, friendship, conversation, volunteering and shared experiences.
It’s a place where people can learn new skills, build confidence, meet new people and discover what they’re capable of.

And all of this happens inside our beautifully restored Victorian station, a building that local people came together to save and give a new purpose.
Years ago, this station only connected people by rail.

Today, it connects our community in a whole new way. ❤️

🔧 Could you be the practical pair of hands our community café needs?

The Signal Box Café is looking for a volunteer Board Director to help shape the future of our much loved community space in Hollingbourne.

We’re looking for someone practical and hands on who enjoys getting stuck in, whether that’s helping with small maintenance jobs, organising repairs, improving the building or simply helping keep things running smoothly.

You don’t need previous Board experience, just a willingness to share your skills and make a real difference to the heart of our village. ❤️

The time commitment is just 3 to 5 hours per month, plus the occasional practical project when you’re available.

If you have experience in property, facilities, DIY, repairs or general maintenance and would love to give something back to the community, we’d love to hear from you.

There’s something so special about seeing the creations from our community events come to life ✨

The lovely guests from our recent Toadstool Pottery Class popped back in to collect their finished pieces after firing, and we think they look absolutely fantastic! 🍄🤍

From a lump of clay to a handmade keepsake, it’s moments like these that make community events at The Signal Box Cafe so special. Thank you to everyone who came along, got creative, and shared the experience with us.
