ONE LAST RIDE... WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

Here's a question for you all, and I'm genuinely interested to hear your answers.

If you could have absolutely any car or vehicle take you on your final journey, what would it be?

Would you go for a traditional hearse, a classic Rolls-Royce, an American car, a VW camper, a hot rod or something completely different? like a bus or fire engine ?

Maybe you'd want to go in your own pride and joy?

Or here's another thought... does the car even matter?

I know for some people the vehicle is a really important part of the funeral, while for others it's just a way of getting from A to B, and they'd rather spend the money elsewhere.

Working in funerals, I get to see how differently people approach saying goodbye, and it's something I find really interesting.

Personally, I think there's something quite special about making that final journey in a vehicle that meant something to you.

But what do you think?

If you could choose anything for your last ride, what would it be? Or wouldn't you be bothered at all?

I'm looking forward to reading your answers, and I reckon we might get a few interesting ones!

What makes a funeral feel truly personal?

It isn’t always the big things.

Sometimes it’s the song nobody else would have chosen. Wearing a football shirt instead of a suit. A favourite flower, photographs from family holidays, a much-loved car, a particular colour, or something that makes everyone smile because it was just so completely “them”.

But what about the location?

When we think about funerals, we often automatically think of a church or crematorium chapel. But a funeral service doesn’t always have to take place in either.

Depending on the circumstances a service could be held in a village hall, a hotel, a function room, a garden, at a pub or car show at home or another suitable place that has a special connection to the person who has died.

You could hold the main celebration of someone’s life somewhere completely personal to them,

At County Funerals, we often tell families there really isn’t a rule book when it comes to saying goodbye.

A funeral can be traditional, simple, colourful, quiet, full of music, full of stories, or a mixture of everything.

The important thing is that it feels right for the person you’re remembering and the people left behind.

So we have two questions for you...

If your family had to choose one song that summed you up perfectly, what would they choose?

And if you could choose somewhere other than a church or crematorium for your funeral service, where would it be?

A favourite pub? Your garden? Somewhere connected to your hobby? Somewhere with an incredible view?

We’d love to hear your answers.

With England taking on Norway this Saturday, the County Funerals team is proudly showing our support in our own unique way!

Our England FIFA World Cup themed coffin is on display, complete with the Three Lions colours and football-inspired design. While it’s a bit of fun ahead of the big match, it also highlights how every funeral can be personalised to reflect the passions, interests and personality of the person being remembered.

We’ll be cheering the lads on this weekend and wishing England the very best of luck! Come on England! 🦁🦁🦁
