Tonight’s All-in layered grazing table was in honour of Ricky’s 70th birthday and organised by her Husband, John. The party was held at Thompson Community Hall Despite only being down the road in Hingham, I’d not catered here before. But what a gem of a hall it is!

John was after the wow factor for his lovely wife and their guests. Feedback was pretty incredible, there was even a queue of people taking pictures! So I’m hoping I’ve nailed it 😉 if you were a guest, leave a review and I’ll be over the moon 😍

Booking no 2 for yesterday was a couple of sandwich platters and cakes for the ladies at Dereham Golf Club 🏌️‍♀️⛳️ for their match vs Sheringham ladies team.

How they managed to play golf in that heat yesterday I don’t know!

Nick delivered these for me (I was at Cranworth) and received a rousing reception on arrival 😂

With the mercury continuing to rise, prep for today’s funeral reception was a challenge! A 18 hour day yesterday (starting at 4am, catering for yesterday’s funeral then getting back and working through until 10pm) , a further 12 hours today and So, so hot… but one look at these pictures makes it all worth while!

Today has been all about Terence Hunt ❤️ It’s been an absolute privilege to help the Hunt family. Not least because Terry’s wife, Gill, is the most lovely, lovely lady.

Terry’s well attended funeral service was held at St Nicholas church, Woodrising, followed by a reception at Cranworth village hall. The buffet was something a little different. It was all about celebrating the amazing salmon from Hunt’s Smokehouse …. And what incredible produce it was to cook with 🐟 I must admit, I was anxious to get this right! Although not just right, but ‘wow’ right.

Thank you Thomas, to hear you say the food was exceptional was just wonderful (and meant an awful lot!) I hope we did your Dad proud. Thank you to you, Tora and your Mum for allowing me free rein on the buffet menu today.

My thanks to Daisy, Shirl & Shelly for their help today in very hot conditions, and to Charlie from Cranworth V.H: thanks for the fans!

Today’s funeral arrangements were expertly carried out by Jules from the Dereham office of Littleproud Funeral Directors.

Not done yet…. Tomorrow and Saturday will be all about putting together a stunning grazing table.

We’ve been back to Hingham Rectory Bowls Club this afternoon to provide catering for the funeral reception of David Neale, fondly known as the clock man 🕰️

Before David sadly passed away, he was a clock repairer with years of knowledge. There will be lots of clocks ticking because of his skill with clock repairs, meaning his legacy will live on ❤️

The buffet went down a storm with David’s family and friends and was served alongside tea & coffee. Many of David’s workmates (Abel Removals) were there, something that I’m reliably informed he would have loved.

Thanks to Hingham Rectory Bowls Club for having us again and to my team for their help serving today (in pretty hot and stuffy conditions!)

Tomorrow we celebrate the life of Terence Hunt with a special buffet following his funeral service at Cranworth Village Hall.

Not a day goes past without a delivery of some kind, usually multiple drops in one day to keep me stocked up for my book...

Not a day goes past without a delivery of some kind, usually multiple drops in one day to keep me stocked up for my bookings.
I’m looking out for my delivery drivers with cold drinks🥤 during another heatwave. The poor Evri man looked exhausted yesterday! His eyes lit up when I gave him a cold drink to takeaway 😊 I’d be lost without them, so it’s only fair I look out for them.

Pastry in this heat is impossible ! Grrrr….. That is all 🧑‍🍳🙁

my goodness, we’ve walked miles today 🥵 trust me to buy a chalet the furthest away from where we can park 🙄 we unloaded a full truck and car 🚗 and made a start actually putting some furniture in 😊 obviously we’re not done yet, but it’s lovely to see it coming together (before pictures included) Blinds for the kitchen and bathroom ordered, next to order beds for the twin room and an oven.

Really thrilled with the flooring, supplied and fitted by Jake Norfolk and Suffolk Carpet Fitter He’s going to be doing Dad’s chalet next 😊

The last of this week’s bookings…. A buffet for 25 residents of Ogden & Stanley Court, in Wymondham.

The menu was carefully chosen by Louise, to include favourites the residents would enjoy most. I set up in their common room/social club area for a relaxed get together. And they’ve booked in for a Christmas party, too (note: the early bird catches the slot of their choice 🐦‍⬛)

And that’s a wrap for this week ❤️ Crikey, it’s been a busy one! Next week is looking just as busy with two funeral receptions and a big birthday bash to cater for.

But, before all that, I’m off to the chalet tomorrow. Now the flooring has been fitted (can’t wait to see it!) we’re going to make a start fitting out the master bedroom and bathroom. Nick’s new van is loaded, and I’ll fill my car up in the morning 🌅 No rest for the wicked 😂
