Afternoon folks , just a quick reminder to all our quizzers , Septembers quiz is actually happening on the 1st October ( 1 week late) as Lou and myself are at a wedding , the October quiz is back to normal on the 29th October.

BOASTFUL UPDATE FROM THE PLOUGHHOUNDS!!

Yes folks we’re bragging, but only because we have best team and customers and we like to share what we’ve been up to and what we’ve got planned, as it stands so far this year we’ve raised and donated just over 12K that’s from Quizzes, Gigs, very long walks, London Marathon and Head Shaving, and its only September, Louise and I are so proud of our team and our customers who never let us down.
But its not stopping , as we did with Jasmine House last year we are now raising money for a fantastic Local charity called LAMP, (Leicestershire Action for Mental health Project) the work these wonderful people do is massively important and we are proud to help them raise much needed funds, in fact its already started , Our monthly charity Quiz raised £770 and last bank holiday Monday 7 intrepid teams took on our School Sport day challenge at Hinckley Cricket club, who knew that an egg and spoon race could be so exciting!! And in just 4 hours we raised another £835 for Lamp.
But But !! we are only just getting started, next month The PloughHounds are at it again, running (and probably hobbling ) around Leicester completing the 10km and the Half Marathon , to be followed some would say foolishly Louise, Hannah and Myself completing a HYROX in Birmingham two weeks later, Hannah and Lou are no strangers to this event and will no doubt smash it , however I am a newbie to such stupidity !! hopefully my glass back will survive!!
Once again, we’d like to say a massive thanks to all the customers, friends, family and team that join us on these rides and help us raise lots of money.

THE NEW PLOUGH INN are hosting a Charity Family Sports Day at Hinckley Town Cricket Club on 31st August from 12pm.

The aim is to raise funds for Lamp - Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project - as teams of around 10 (children welcome) take part in classic games from egg and spoon races and welly wanging, to an obstacle course and tug of war!

The charity Lamp is an independent community mental health advocacy charity serving the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

They exist to ensure that people experiencing mental health challenges are listened to, understood and empowered. They believe that everyone has the right to be heard and to play an active role in decisions that affect their health, wellbeing and future.

The New Plough Inn are supporting Lamp for the next year with various fundraising efforts.
