With the ever increasing fish prices, especially cod, we have made a few alterations to our menu. We no longer do large cod but will continue with medium cod. The fish we offer are as follows.
MEDIUM COD: The classic southern fish, mild and generally neutral in flavour with succulent flakes.
MEDIUM PO***CK: Mild and sweet, a great beginner fish! It has moist, tender flakes, smaller and softer to those of cod.
LARGE HAKE: A great replacement for the large cod, its gentle, clean, slightly creamy flavour with a delicate texture that maintains its moisture.
LARGE HADDOCK: Another staple of the chippy tea, has a more robust fish flavour but not overpowering, tender, delicate flakes.
MEDIUM PLAICE: Sweet, slightly nutty flavour, it features a pronounced 'umami' quality. It has a white, flaky tender texture.
SCAMPI: Naturally sweet, delicate and briny flavour, a cross between lobster tail and a high quality prawn. Firm but not tough texture in a crunchy breadcrumb coating. Delicious with tartare sauce!
