We’re incredibly flattered to have been nominated once again for the England’s Business Awards. 💙

However, we’ve decided not to enter this year.

After looking into it previously, we found it’s not quite what we expected. While it’s lovely to receive the nomination, businesses then have to pay an entry fee (which can be up to £200), and tickets for the awards evening are also paid for. From our experience, attendance forms part of the overall process too, so it’s not simply a case of being voted for by customers.

Don’t get us wrong – it’s wonderful to be recognised, and we’re genuinely grateful to everyone who thought of us. But we’d rather spend that money investing back into the bakery than chasing a trophy.

The truth is, we already feel like winners.

We have amazing customers in both shops who continue to support us week after week. Some of you have been with us for years, and many of you have become friends. Our little social media community keeps growing (even if I don’t always remember to post! 🫣😂), and despite the tough times so many businesses are facing, Maisey’s continues to grow because of your support.

No certificate could mean more than that.

So, thank you for every visit, every order, every recommendation, every like, comment and share. You keep our ovens on, our staff busy, and our family business going strong.

To us… we’ve already won. 💙

Meet the faces behind the counter. ❤️

Before the 2am alarms, the flour-covered clothes and the endless cups of tea, we were just kids with big dreams…

In this video you’ll see our team growing up, what they dreamed of becoming, what they love most about working here, and yes… what drives them completely mad too! 😂

Running a small family bakery isn’t always easy. We work incredibly hard to make sure our shelves are full and our customers leave happy. Sometimes things don’t go to plan, and when you’re frustrated, chances are we’re just as frustrated. We’re only human, doing our absolute best every single day.

Every loaf, every cake, every pasty and every smile comes from a team of real people who genuinely care.

So next time you pop in, remember there’s a whole bunch of hardworking humans behind the scenes doing everything they can to keep the bakery running.
