I took over the hotel in April 2010. We have transformed the Old Hall and the service you will receive. My aim is to provide a relaxed atmosphere for family and friends to eat and drink with comfortable accomodation. We offer all your favourite classic pub meals from our experienced chefs using fresh ingredients and also have a variety of specials with a twist. We also have a tea room where you can enjoy breakfasts, a quick bite for lunch or afternoon tea and coffee. You must try our famous Old Hall Hotel Derbyshire Breakfast! The tea room can be hired for a special occasion with a variety of options catering for your needs. Please do come and visit us for a meal, drink or stay in one of comfortable bed and breakfast rooms. You can always be sure of a warm welcome at the Old Hall Hotel in Hope, Peak District.

💚 £2,821.80 raised for Edale Mountain Rescue Team 💚

We’re absolutely delighted to share the final total raised for Edale MRT at Hope Valley Beer & Cider Festival over the August Bank Holiday — an incredible £2,821.80!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, bought raffle tickets, used our charity cups and helped support the team across the weekend. We knew our festival-goers were a generous bunch, but this really is a fantastic amount.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to the members of Edale MRT who joined us over the weekend, helped with the raffle and, of course, for everything they do all year round to keep people safe across the Peak District.

We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting such an important local team — and very grateful to every single person who helped us raise this brilliant total. 💚

🍺 We’re in the Good Beer Guide!

We’re chuffed to once again be in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2027, recognising pubs serving consistently great cask ale — something we’re pretty proud of here at the Old Hall.

And if you needed an excuse for a Saturday out, the Hope Valley Rail Ale Trail is a pretty good one. 🚂

Hop on the train from Sheffield and make your way through Hope Valley, stopping off at some brilliant pubs as you go. Hope is one of the stops, and we’re just a short walk from the station — so make sure the Old Hall is on your list 🫡

A train through the Peaks with a few pub stops along the way? We can think of worse ways to spend a Saturday!

A little late because Beer Festival weekend rather took over… but we couldn’t let Pickle’s 3rd birthday go by without celebrating one of the most important members of the Old Hall family. ❤️🐾

Rick’s lovely Pickle really is the ultimate pub dog. If you’ve met her, you’ll know just how friendly she is — often found snoozing in one of the contents chairs, quietly supervising proceedings or happily accepting attention from whoever happens to be nearby.

She’s a big part of life at the Old Hall and we absolutely adore her. In fact, the sign outside probably sums things up best: dogs welcome to Pickle’s house.

So here’s a very happy belated birthday to our beautiful girl. If you’re lucky enough to spot her on your next visit, be sure to give her an extra fuss 🐶

Still plenty of beer left, all ready for ‘The Hope Show After Party’ and The Walkers are playing live.

The current tap lineup includes 10 real ales, 6 beers on draught, 3 ciders and a cellar full of beer in our main bar, so….. COME ON DOWN!!!
