After a very busy year we will be closed over the Christmas festivities to give our wonderful staff a much needed break!

Two lovely customers from West Monkseaton had a visit to hexham and our cafe a while ago.

They travel to lots of cafes but had to come back to ours for a second visit because in their words ‘They are the best scones we have ever had!’
They even brought us a little trophy to confirm it

We recently got together with a very good friend/business of ours Violet's Quality Tableware Hire to help raise some money for a fantastic local charity we both support Tynedale Hospice at Home
Thank you so much to everyone who helped us raise an incredible £923

So so very stylish…and just so very kind too! We are indebted to organisers Sue Bell and her business Violet's Quality Tableware Hire and Leanne Scudamore of The Queens Hall Cafe for hosting a very very classy afternoon tea fundraiser. (Be sure to give both a follow on their pages)

Delicate pastries, tasty scones and sandwiches…all eaten from the very best bone China. Tea was drunk from equally fine cups and, yes, Prosecco too - sipped from gorgeous champagne glasses.

And…a raffle! With prizes from lovely friends and big-hearted local businesses.

AND…WOW!....a total of £923 was raised, all of it for Tynedale Hospice at Home. Every last penny will be spent right here in taking care of your community.

Thank you Sue, thank you Violet’s Tableware Hire, thank you Queen’s Hall Cafe! Tynedale Hospice at Home is blessed to have so many lovely kind friends.

Looking for another part time team member to help us out in the café and occasionally the bar for the theatre shows.

Must be able to work weekends.

We're looking for a team member that can lead by example and loves the 3 C's.

Coffee, cake and customers.

Someone who genuinely enjoys working in the café environment (like I do).

This job is perfect for those that in their past employments have set the standards for their team because they care more about the quality of the service than those around them.

Working for me, that ability and care will not be taken for granted, it will be rewarded.

Some experience of being a team leader or supervisor is required as well as having used an espresso machine before but additional training will be given to show you how we do things.

For clarification the role includes the following tasks.

Organising staff, responsibility for bookings and events, admin and cashing up, stock taking and re ordering, budget control, making and serving perfectly textured latte's and cappuccinos, training new staff, improving practices, ensuring other staff's work has been completed (all staff have checklists for their role), reporting to the manager and most importantly - quality control (and taste testing).
