THIS IS A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
We are pleased to confirm that at 10:00 AM on THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST, a very special arrival will take place at Bellingham (North Tyne) Station / Station Yard.
BELLE’S SISTER CARRIAGE IS ARRIVING! ❤️
Passengers and visitors are advised that a railway carriage will be arriving into Station Yard, and we are delighted to welcome this exciting addition to our heritage collection.
It really is a moment we have all been waiting for — like Christmas has come early! 🎄🚂
🚧 PLEASE NOTE – TEMPORARY DISRUPTION
During the arrival and positioning of the carriage, there may be temporary disruption to normal access and services.
For safety reasons, access to the Heritage Centre toilets and parts of the platform may be restricted at times.
Please follow all instructions from staff on site, who will advise when it is safe to move around the area.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.

The week has finally arrived when Belle’s sister carriage will be making her way to Station Yard!
📅 THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST
Another railway carriage will arrive at Station Yard — and we are so excited to welcome Belle’s sister carriage!
🚧 PLEASE NOTE – TEMPORARY DISRUPTION
While the carriage is being brought into position, there may be some temporary disruption to our normal service.
For your safety, access to the toilet in the Heritage Centre and parts of the platform may be restricted during the carriage’s arrival and movement.
Our staff will be on hand throughout and will let you know when it is safe to move around the site. Please follow their instructions and take extra care while the carriage is being positioned.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hareshaw Ironworks may have turned our little market town of Bellingham into a major industrial centre - if only the railway had arrived fifteen years earlier. Iron ore was successfully produced for ten years but was too expensive to transport to market, and the ironworks closed in 1848. The remains of the ironworks can still be seen on the scenic walk to our waterfall at Hareshaw Linn. Why not plan a visit to Bellingham and a visit to the Heritage Centre and Tea on the Train?
