Michael & Carol over the years in the Peppercorn Coffee Shop in Houghton on Houghton Feast Saturday & St Patricks day 😋

🥂 Well… after 23 years, I'm finally working my notice! 😂 🥂

I started with Michael & Carol at The peppercorn coffee shop in Houghton on just 12 hours a week and somehow ended up managing the business — I definitely didn’t see that coming! 😂

We’ve had good times, bad times, plenty of laughs and a few ups & downs along the way! But through it all, they've become good friends❤️

A huge thank you to all our wonderful customers for your friendship, loyalty and support over the years. We couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

Enjoy your retirement, Michael &
Carol — you’ve definitely earned it! 🥂🍾❤️

And … after 23 years, I’m finally getting rid of you lol 😂😅😘

I'm going to miss you both 😢 😍

love from Sue ###
PS. I'm not retiring lol 😆 😂

END OF AN ERA. AFTER 30+ YEARS IN BUSINESS IT'S NOW TIME TO RETIRE 🥂

08/07/2026

After much thought, we've decided that, due to retirement (for good this time! 😊), we are offering the lease of The Little Peppercorn Tea Rooms for sale.

Please don't worry – we'll remain open as usual until the right person comes along to take over, so you can still enjoy all your favourite homemade meals, cakes and friendly service.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful customers. Your loyalty, support and friendship over the years have meant the world to us, and we are truly grateful for every one of you.

If you know of anyone who has always dreamed of running a successful, well-established tea room with a fantastic reputation and loyal customer base, please get in touch.

Thank you once again for all your support – it has been an absolute pleasure serving our local community. ❤️☕🍰
