FREE DRINKS FOR FRONTLINE FIREFIGHTERS

Our local Firefighters are working tirelessly to keep us all safe so we’ve decided to give them a bit of a treat! From today (14th) until the end of August we’ll be giving free drinks to both full time and retained frontline firefighters with a valid ID card, just our way of saying thanks for risking your lives to save others and their livelihoods!

*One drink per person, per day. Valid only for serving frontline staff with ID cards.

MY FIRST YEAR

Having never ran a business before I took over last August I knew I could run The Coffee Shed on a day to day basis but with had no idea how to manage all the behind the scenes magic that keeps a business running!

12 months on and I think I FINALLY understand VAT (big up Nana Wood for making us do the farm VAT with her in our school hols!), I nearly know where all the stuff I need is on the shelves in Booker and I can just about manage the team’s holidays, uni lives and other commitments to come up with a half decent rota! I’ve made some fantastic new friends and been supported by old ones. I’ve also somehow gained a cow 🤣

Here’s to the next 12 months…exciting times ahead.

SPECIAL GUESTS!

We have some rather special guests coming on Saturday. How many of you have heard of Andy’s Man Club? And if you have, did you know there’s one in Hereford? They’ll be joining us on Saturday to tell you all about it!

ANDYSMANCLUB has free support groups nationwide, running every Monday from 7PM except bank holidays. The aim of the club is to provide men with a safe space where they feel comfortable to talk and open up about their experiences in a room free of judgment.

We’re proud to announce we’ll be supporting them and raising money for this charity over the next 12 months.

We lost our lovely friend Neil to cancer in June, he attended Andy’s Man Club in Hereford throughout his illness and looked forward to every Monday evening. He loved cheesecake, chocolate hobnobs and coffee which is partly why we were such good friends! In his honour the sales from every black Americano ordered on Saturday will be donated.

Mordiford Bridge is closed however the road between our site and Hereford is OPEN! Please ignore the road closed signs in Tupsley and St James’ and carry on through.

We will be open as normal so please spread the word that you can get here from Hereford!

I’m sure all the little businesses in Hampton Bishop, Mordiford and Fownhope will suffer in the next two weeks while the bridge is closed so please come and spend some pennies with all of us!

In true Hereford style Huw from Tucked Away Photography got in contact with us as a friend of a friend, no six degrees of separation in this county 🤣

Huw’s eye for wildlife photography is absolutely amazing and he has some stunning photographs. Instantly likeable, his passion for his work is contagious and he’ll happily chat about the when, where and how of all his shots.

I’ve been firmly told to keep my hand in my pocket next time I see him as last time I came home with a rather gorgeous limited edition that now sits proudly in our living room!

He’ll be here next Saturday, 10-4 to help us celebrate our birthday!

The guys from Wing It will be providing top notch grub for us on the 1st August. They serve wings, fries and pizzas from their super cool Airstream trailer.

We always have a food vendor at our events to keep everyone well fed and it’s a good excuse for us to grab something a bit different for lunch too!

Introducing Jo from The Pink Gecko! Jo spent time living in Kenya and was inspired to start her own business selling the most beautiful handmade bags, towels and sarongs. Jo’s personality is as bright and refreshing as all of the beautiful things she sells!

All of Jo’s goods are handmade from the East African coast. She supports the same suppliers year after year while also giving back to Kenyan charities.

I’m definitely saving my pennies to treat myself to something on the 1st August!
