THIS IS A BIG ONE. 🍕🔥

Leaven has officially been named one of the final 16 in the National Pizza Awards 2026.

That means our little independent pizzeria in Hereford is heading to London this November to cook head-to-head against some of the best pizza restaurants and biggest names in the UK, competing for National Pizza of the Year.

We opened Leaven in 2023 with a pretty simple ambition: obsess over the dough, use brilliant ingredients and make genuinely great pizza.

Since then, the team have put an incredible amount of work into every detail — our sourdough, fermentation, ingredients and the cook.

We’ve already been lucky enough to be named Best Independent Pizza Restaurant in the UK at the PAPA Awards 2024 and Best Italian Restaurant at the Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards 2026.

But making the final 16 nationally feels pretty special.

And we’re incredibly proud to be doing it from HEREFORD.
