Events Chef / Catering Professional

We are excited to be recruiting for a talented and experienced Events Chef/Catering Professional to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone with experience in event catering who is highly organised, proactive, and confident in taking ownership of kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing and forward planning, maintaining high food hygiene standards, and working closely with our small, dedicated team to deliver exceptional food for events of all sizes—from intimate dinners for two, to large-scale functions for 400 plus guests.

Our menus are varied and diverse, so creativity, adaptability, and a flexible approach are essential.

The ideal candidate will have:

● Experience in event or hospitality catering.
● Excellent organisational and planning skills.
● Confidence in managing purchasing and stock control.
● A thorough understanding of food hygiene and kitchen compliance.
● The ability to work well within a small team while taking initiative and responsibility.
● A passion for producing high-quality food and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Hours:

● Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Generally between 9:00am – 5:00pm, occasionally later starts and finishes depending on events.
● Saturdays: Variable hours depending on events
● Occasional Sunday work may be required but is not the norm.

Salary: From £30,000 upwards. Negotiable, depending on experience.
Equity share potential for the right person.
Location:Helston

I took the weekend off!! I joined the amazing Jamie from DJ in Cornwall , ChefSpargo, my daughter Betty and four other amazing humans, to hike the Three Peaks Challenge. The most incredible and exhilarating experience.

Today we celebrated 26 years of marriage 💞
It’s been quite a journey… We are very blessed with two wonderful children and immense family support.
A little known fact is that ‘Kerra’s Catering’ is our second business. 24 years ago we had a small restaurant in St Keverne. Here’s a pic of us celebrating our opening night 🥂Hubby would argue that cooking has always been my first love! 😩
