Not often the red carpet is rolled out on a Friday for steam but tomorrow seems as good a day as any to do it!

Locomotive Services operate the Chairman’s train to Hellifield, steam hauled and due with us from 16:15 to 16:25. Then it’s followed up the Clitheroe line by 142 Pacer 142003 to collect the guests to continue their trip north over the S&C just after 17:00.

We will be staying open for drinks, cake and ice cream until around 17:30

We have been waiting for a reason to use a picture of the football stadium in Čierny Balog, Slovekia and today seemed the ideal opportunity.

Why not combine football and steam this week. Tangmere does the honours with the Dalesman tomorrow. Planned to be with us from 09:46 to 11:21 then again 19:01 to 19:25.

The Shed team will be going into added time to ensure brews and cakes until she leaves at 19:25.

Hopefully it will be less stressful than this morning!!

Heat, holidays and Hellifield. Sounds like a great last minute escape to the gateway of the Yorkshire Dales.

We have last minute availability at The Yorkshire Sleeper for up to four people between Friday 26th June and Friday 3rd July.

We can do a full week or even a long weekend as a special escape. Just give us a ring on 07475 878209.

The Dalesman makes its first appearance of 2026 tomorrow (Thursday 11th June).

34067 Tangmere doing the honours from Hellifield to Carlisle.

Tangmere will arrive with us around 09:00 with the train arriving at 10:10 and leaving with Tangmere heading north at 10:34

The Shed doors are open from 09:30

Oh we have missed Wednesday steam

Good news is it’s back tomorrow - Wednesday 3rd June with the passing Saphos Fellsman train.

Due to pass us at 11:20

It will return back through Hellifield at 18:53 but we won’t be there after 15:30 unfortunately this time
