⚽️ WELL… THAT WAS AWKWARD. ⚽️

Our England v Ghana Goal Time draw had one major flaw…

For somebody to win, somebody actually had to score. 😅

After 90 minutes, a lot of shouting at the referee, several expert opinions from the bar, and enough analysis to keep Match of the Day going until breakfast…

The final score was:

🏴 England 0 - 0 Ghana 🇬🇭

Which means…

🍺 No goals.
🍺 No winning minutes.
🍺 No winners.

The good news is nobody can claim they were robbed this time. Every number on the board was equally useless. 🤣

⚽️ SO CLOSE, WAYNE… SO VERY CLOSE ⚽️

Our Scotland v Morocco Goal Time draw was over almost before it had begun…

Morocco found the net in the:

⚽️ 2nd minute

Which sounds great… unless you’ve picked minute 3. 😬

Poor Wayne Othen was sat on number 3, making him the closest player on the board and just ONE minute away from a 4-pint jug of Thatchers Gold.

Close enough to be annoying.

Not close enough to be drinking free cider. 🍺🤣

Unfortunately, nobody managed to land on the winning minute this time, meaning the jug stays with us for another day.

⚽️ WE HAVE WINNERS… AND THE BOARD IS BACK OPEN! ⚽️

After last week’s heroic effort of being one minute away from winning… twice… Paul clearly decided he’d had enough of being everyone’s favourite nearly-man. 😅

This week’s Thatchers Gold Goal Time draw produced plenty of drama…

The goals came in the:

⚽️ 36th minute
⚽️ 42nd minute
⚽️ 47th minute

And then another one in injury time that got everyone excited for about 10 seconds before we remembered Thatchers don’t count added-time goals. 🤦‍♂️🍎

Our first Thatchers Gold Goal Time draw is in the books, and despite plenty of entries on the board, nobody managed to land on the winning minutes!

The goals came in the:

🎯 21st minute
🎯 32nd minute

Special mention has to go to Paul, who somehow managed the football equivalent of hitting the post twice…

😅 He picked 22 when the goal came in the 21st minute.

😅 Then picked 33 when the goal came in the 32nd minute.

That’s not bad luck. That’s a talent.

We reckon if there’d been a goal in the 43rd minute, he’d have had 44 as well. 🤣

The painful part? It didn’t even matter who scored. He’d have won if Brazil scored. He’d have won if Morocco scored. He’d probably have won if someone in the crowd had scored. But not quite. 😬
