Easter vibes are in full swing at Ground🐣 (although what happened to yesterday's weather???)

If you’re out and about over the break, swing by and settle in with us for yummy hot food, fresh pastries, homemade cakes, and seriously good coffee.

Make a day of it too… the miniature railway is running today (Friday), Saturday, and Monday 🚂 from 2-5pm. Perfect for little (and big) kids alike.

Cafe is closed on Monday, though, for our own R&R!

Things are brewing here at Ground in the Park, in our beautiful Beech Hurst Gardens 🌸, and it's not just the coffee!

We’re super excited to share some of what’s coming up in the year ahead.

Some favourites will be returning after last year’s successes, so think Easter Fun Day, summer music in the park, a Halloween special, and yes… our Christmas Sparkle event will definitely be back, only bigger and better! - promise😊

But we’ve also got some new ideas in the works:
👉 Thrift markets in the park
☀️ Later evening opening for summer - BBQ nights and supper clubs

😀 And something we’d love your thoughts on…

We’re having a covered pergola with a roof built just outside the café, overlooking the park and the Downs (coming soon!). We’re thinking it could be a really lovely space to host kids’ parties

We’d provide catering, help make it feel special, and take the stress off parents, all in a beautiful outdoor setting.

✨ Happy New Year! ✨

Thank you for such a lovely year! We’ve truly loved being part of this community and sharing our yummy food with you in beautiful Beech Hurst Gardens.

We’re open from 10am on New Year’s Day ☕

There’ll be no hot food from the kitchen, but we’ll have all your usual delicious, locally-made pastries and savouries, plus plenty of hot drinks to ease you into 2026.

It's going to be sunny but cold, so wrap up warm and indulge in a hot chocolate for a gentle start to the new year!

In the meantime, have a super-duper evening ringing in 2026, and we'll be ready with that shot of caffeine in the morning!

One more sleep!

We've been busy today prepping the mulled wine and making last-minute plans for our Sparkle in the Park event tomorrow.

We'll have festive bundles of mistletoe and reindeer hot chocolate & marshmallow pouches available to purchase, and there will be plenty of delicious goodies to get you into the Christmas spirit.

🎅 Stalls/Crafts setting up at 10am and ready for trade soon after and until 4pm
🎅 60-strong Choir& KO performing from 2pm for an hour
🎅 Santa Claus will be making an appearance!

Mood set to hibernate?

Christmas is coming to Beech Hurst Gardens and we need YOU!

We’re busy planning our festive event on Sunday, 21st December, when we’ll be turning Ground in the Park into a full-on Crimbo wonderland.

We’ve already booked the choir for some carols and a Christmas singalong and Santa himself will be making an appearance.

Mulled wine & mince pies, hot dogs & jacket spuds, and chestnuts 🌰 roasting on an open fire.

Be part of the magic ✨ - We need our lovely community to show up and roll out their skills (and wares), to make this day super special, we’re on the lookout for:

🌲Face painters to bring some sparkle
🌲Crafty stallholders with lovely handmade bits (gifts, trinkets, homewares, Christmassy bits & bobs)
🌲Foodie stalls with tasty treats

Plus, we’d love for you, local musicians 🎶, to keep the festive tunes flowing.

So… get the date in your diary, and if you fancy running a stall or showing off your talents, drop us a PM or pop in and see us at the cafe in Beech Hurst for a chat.

Just TWO more Saturdays left (13th & 20th Sept) to ride the miniature railway in Beech Hurst Gardens before they wrap up their 2025 season.

So head to the park this Saturday and get your last ride on the choo choo and then pop round and join us for something flaky & fabulous to round off the afternoon.

Homemade cakes, local pastries, or maybe a sausage or halloumi ciabatta (hot food until 2pm). Plus, THE most almond-y of almond croissants you'll ever experience (it will ruin you for shop-bought).

Trains running Saturday 13th & 20th: from 2-5pm
Cafe open daily: Mon-Fri: 8am - 3pm | Sat: 8am - 5pm | Sun: 10am - 3pm. Kitchen for hot grub until 2pm.

The weekend is finally here, and we’ve got everything you need to make it a good one.

From freshly baked cakes to hearty hot food, it’s all served up with a side of good vibes. Whether you’re catching up with friends, treating the family, or just taking a little time for yourself, we’ve got a cosy spot waiting here at Ground in Beech Hurst Gardens. Your hounds are welcome too (yummy homemade biscuits on tap!) So, pop in, relax, and let us take care of the weekend feels.

Open Saturday until 5pm and Sunday until 3pm (kitchen until 2pm for hot food)

With autumn rolling in, we’re tweaking our opening hours to match the season at the Hut in Beech Hurst. Think of it as us wrapping up in a big cosy jumper (or based on the last couple of days, maybe full-on wellies and waterproofs!) but we're still here for your morning coffees, brunch catch-ups and afternoon treats, just at snugger times.

Pop by, warm up with a coffee, and watch autumn do its magic with us. 🍁

You could also warm up with Amy's Shakshuka, which has a spicy kick that is sure to warm the cockles of your heart!

Changing hours for the Kiosk in Cuckfield, too, and we'll post those soon, so stay tuned.
